neighbor's wife forced him to sell mustang that has been collecting dust in his garage (my craigslist add):

Beautiful 96% restored 1965 Ford Mustang
Relatively new (pretty, but honestly not to high show quality) white paint
<8000 miles on rebuilt 289 V8 (dealership change w/factory parts)
edelbrock 4bbl manifold w/edelbrock 4bbl carg
new fuel,waterpump
MSD performance ignition system
rebuilt C4 automatic
driver's seat seams split, rest of interior is new/pristine
new fuel tank
new tie rod ends/steering components
new dual exhaust
new Firestone tires (factory "spinner" hub caps)
Factory AirConditioning
with exception of very very minor "surface" rust, body+undercarrage is completely rust free
prior owner was service tech at Sanderson Ford

"bad" points:
289 is high performance, but was not stock (by vin)
drivers door fits/looks great but close inspection reveals has been replaced
Odomoter reads 89915, titled "B" (exceeds limit). By condition, I would not be surprised is was actual: tracks/drives perfectly
manual steering
drum brakes

Digital camera is broke, trying to borrow one

(END of AD)

Dealer (I called auto trader ads inquiring about status of mustangs currently for sale) came out, picked apart ( he seemed rather knowlegable ), offered me $5000, then $6000, 6500, and finally $7000 (on condition I repaired carb, motormount, fuel pump)

any input/ideas of what to look for / how to price would be appreciated
motor mount is fixed (was missing 2 bolts)
new carb (one that was on was leaking due to bad gas) is on
new fuel pump installed

Thanks
Steve

Id say its worth 2 stock diff covers and a 12pack (I can hook you up if you want) j/k WEll you can figure if he offered you 7 itll probly sell for 10-12 to the public depending on how bad someone wants it.you might try listing it in the midwest first could bring a little more money and shipping isnt all that high aabout 700 bucks into chicago/st.louis area might get 14-16 if ou pay the shipping.I sod a 71 fastback for 14 2yrs ago that wasnt in as good a shape as yours is.. good luck

Barrett-Jackson Auction Company Jan 13-21 Scottsdale... ;)

x2 on Barrett-Jackson auction. It draws big $$ car collectors and they're all looking to buy. If anything you could get the info you want.
