anybody gonna be doing martinez canyon sun 12-10-06? A few of us want to go, but I've only done the trail at night and have always been lead around this area. So I'm not sure if I would recognize the turns. And since its gonna be a Sunday I don't want to get stuck out there all day looking for it.

Sorry, I find it useful when people have a description of their rig in their user profile. Especially when said people are asking for a someone to lead them through a trail that can be kind of tough.

Click on user CP and update either your profile or signature.

Nothing personal, wasn't trying to offend, looks like a few of us are going to run Powerline trail Sunday, but have fun on Martinez.

OH yeah, if you run Martinez, try to get the gate measurement for Sandy, see the last couple of posts in this thread:

There are two rock posts just before entering the narrow mouth to the canyon. Years ago there was a cable across. This is where we need the gate to go at this time but I need some measurements.
Inside to inside across
center to center across
outside to outside across
Is there room for a vehicle to go off road and around the gate?
What is the stability of the rock posts?
Do we feel the need for steel posts?..........

If you're going to Martinez Canyon and you have the tools (i.e., a fence post pounder), you might want to see if you can repair the illegal by-pass fence posts that were downed after the last storms (I think). I noticed the damage the when I was in there last week. I somewhat re-installed one post (not deep enough as I did not have a fence post pounder nor big enough sledge hammer) on the south entrance/exit of the by-pass, but on the north entrance/exit of it, there were several removed and on lying on the ground.
Just a thought if you're so inclined.
