View Full Version : Camera stores in the valley

So I'm thinking it might be time for me to buy a new camera. Mine has lived a very long, very productive life but I'm not sure my little 2MP camera is worth spending any more money on to fix and clean up (well maybe one more time so I have a fall back camera).
I'm sticking with FujiFilm if I do upgrade. I'm looking at the F650 as it has a 5x optical zoom whereas most others only do a 3x. I currently have a 10x so it's a downgrade but the MP's would be 4 times the amount I currently have.
Does anyone have a camera store in the valley that I can check out. I don't mind buying from the chains but the stores that cater primarily to cameras are good places to go too and I might find something else of interest.

Try Ritz Camera I think they have a few shops in the PHX area. They are where I go for repairs on my spensive stuff. They usually have some pretty good specials as well.

Give Simon a call...take the money you may be spending on a camera and slap it on his counter... he can put it towards some nice ARB's. This solves your problem of finding a camera store and finding traction. It's a win win no matter how you look at it.
If you buy a camera rather than buying lockers you're taking food out of Simon's daughter's horse's mouth. That wouldn't be very nice of you? Especially after him and his crew helping you out?

YJINAZ,
That would be a cool camera but I have 4 xD picture cards that will not work with that camera. :D
I need to stick with Fuji or Olympus (though that Fuji camera I got has been awesome so I think I'm staying brand loyal).
Mike.....
You of all people should be trying to shy me away from lockers as I might embarrass ya once I finally do get some stronger traction. ;) j/k
Freaking great post though, you had me rolling. :D

How much are you planning on spending?
Dont limit yourself because of the xD cards. Go Nikon and experience a real camera. even their cheapest ones are great

Tempe Camera on University between Mill and Priest (north side of the street). Maybe check out Ritzcamera.com and see if they have something you like, then go by your local store and actually handle it to see what its like...

x2 On Tempe Camera. Another option, pick up a photography magazine, doesn't matter if it's a digital or standard, and check out the back pages. The mail/internet orders can have some great deals. I haven't been dissappointed by them yet.

You really ought to consider ordering online. The prices are far better than local big box retail...
We recently bought a camera from buydig.com for example. Service was great and everything came as expected.
That F650 you were looking at is 189 bucks with free shipping... and no sales tax I believe

Well hell, I'll be down that way today and tomorrow so I might just swing on by. :)
Danno,
Been thinking about that too, and that's a good price. Thanks for the link.

If you buy online please make sure you don't accidently get involved with one of those grey camera shops in NY. NY+Cameras+online=bad...trust me.

2nd that... Make sure you do your homework about your online retailer. The buydig.com... the one that I mentioned earlier seemed to have one of the best prices and was rated 4.5 out of 5 stars on Yahoo Shopping and they have over 1000 reviews.
I am really considering buying a LCD flat panel from them this year.
