I know this is a jeep club, but would it be a better idea for those of us with pick-ups/trucks as daily drivers to bring those to expedite the clean-up process?

Mark having a few trucks around would be a big help. Last year we filled about 3 dumpster to overflowing. This year we have 4 so we have planty of stuff to haul.

I was at Table Mesa today. We have a lot of clean up available we can use everyone we can get to show up and help.
The last couple years the event was sponsored by the Phx 4 wheelers. This year it is the AZVJC, lets put on a real show of what this club can do.
BTW I have contacted a couple radio stations that promised to do Public Service ads for the run. I did both country stations. If you have contacts or listen to a favorite station please try to contact them to do a PSA for us.
We need flyers in all the shooters supply shops and 4 wheel and ATV shops. I can attach a flyer to the group you can print out and give to shops. Just let me know.

Yeah, I agree with Jim on this one...... I think all of us that frequent gun shops should post a flyer about the clean up out @ table mesa...... It will open the eyes (hopefully) to a few people...Its not like The Jeepers just take our trash out there and dump it for the hell of it (Not counting Rick Normans XJ):D :D :D :D

So far we have 58 members registered for the event. I know it is a couple weeks away but we need a large turnout. This is the first time the AZVJC has been the club of record for this event. Roy has been doing a great job promoting it. We should have PSA's on several radio stations. If you can fit it into your schedule please sign up on the web page.

"West side of I-17, Beyond the end of the pavement". It may mean somthing to the rest of you, but I'm new and it means nothing to me.
I can see the rating is acceptable, and I'd like to do my first run and meet all of you, but I don't even know if it is within a reasonable distance of my home in Prescott.
Where are the directions?

Take the Table Mesa Exit on I-17. It is about 5 miles north of New River. HTH

My son and I had a good time doing this last year. This year I'll bring my trailer so I can make fewer trips to the dumpster.
72 signups so far - that's great!

We have 76 members signed up so far. Looks like a great clean-up. It has been in the AZ Repugnat in the Outdoor section. It has been posted to the other OHV groups. We contacted several gun groups and radio stations. BTW if you know or listen to a radio station please call them to do a PSA for us for the clean -up.
I think this will be the largest clean-up in this area we have had and the best part is the AZVJC is the sponsor.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sat.

We had great turn out and filled all four dumpsters. Thanks to everyone that was involved for helping to make this work out so well. Roy Rogers did a great job setting this up.
I had a good time working with everyone.

I guess we did utilize the trailer. Hauled 6 full loads to the dumpster.
Robert Rogers did a great job getting the clean up organized.

For any of the future clean ups, if we could get a front end loader to keep the junk pushed to the front, we should be able to get more in the dumpster. Also, any heavy items could be put in the bucket and dumped over the top.
Just a thought.
Best regards,
Mike

I'm SOOO glad we brought our trailer. It's much easier than making frequent trips to the dumpster.
Many thanks to Roy for the organization of it all. His son also was a huge help, working very hard on the other side of the freeway to fill bags.
Lots of support and it was neat seeing some non-4x4 groups out there as well. This not only provided additional labor but also expands the word of mouth news about all the responsible Jeep people in this area.
It was fun to see all the junk cars being dragged to their collection spot. That was awesome!
Maybe next year we could get some gloves from the company that donated them last time. I met a few people that wanted to help out but didn't have any gloves. Also, there was a group of Boy Scouts out helping and maybe next year we can get some more. They said they found out about the cleanup from a notice in the newspaper. If we could send some kind of official announcement to the Boy Scout leadership in Phoenix, maybe even more would show up.
I think todays cleanup was a great success. I'm sure Roy will give us a trip report.

 What an awesome turn out. Although we could have had a few more hands we got a great portion of the trash.
Table Mesa is a great place to wheel with some of the better trails in the state. Maybe next year more runs durring the clean up will be posted for this area. You know two birds and one stone thing. :D

Great job !! It was good to see other groups out there as well! Shouldn't I be able to open the four items in Hackle's post above??
Also, I am pretty involved with the BSA at different levels.. If you want, I can head up getting them involved with future cleanups. I think the best thing would be to get the closest districts involved each time. I can't be at the sycamore cleanup, but I could see what we could do with BSA.... Please advise,
