We will be running Lower Scorpion as a warm up trail, then Upper Scorpion. If all goes well there is a trail I haven't run, and might get it a try if we have the time.

33's F/R locker or (1 locker and L/S. minimum)
I think 5 to 6 hrs. to do the runs.
Bring lunch and a camera.

Meet at air down spot Watson RD. & I-10 9:00 am leave 9:15

There is a good chance I will go. Those 2 trails shouldnt take more than 1-2 hours total. They arent that bad. What is the other trail you are thinking of running?

I don't know what it is called, but was told at the end was a huge water fall that only a few have made it up without a winch. There is a early out before the falls.

What is the other trail you are thinking of running?

Just register at www.photobucket.com

Then you can upload them and it resizes for you and gives you the IMG tags to just post in the thread...its way better than attatchin em..

This was a different kind of a trip, not everyone went to the same air down spot to start with, that's my fault. This would have been a very large group, but Ski4x4 in the Toyota 4 runner took 4 to Upper Scorpion from one air down spot, and I had 6 in my group,2 TJ's, 2 XJ's, 1 YJ, and a buggy. There were 4 other Jeeps waiting for one more of there friends to show up so they said they would catch up. We never saw then (hope you all found something to do). We ran Lower Scorpion first than Upper Scorpion, Joe in his TJ took the line center to right up the first fall on Upper and stayed that way to the top. The buggy also took the same line very cool. We got to the turn around exit when we ran into the first group, we stopped to help the TJ put his rear spring back in and told him about his shock being broken. I don't know were the leader went. After that, we went the rest of the way up to the top, turned around and came back down. To make it more interesting we drove down the first fall, that was fun. As for the new trail we didn't run it there was so many flies out there we couldn't even eat our lunch, so we loaded up and went to Burger King and called it a day. I think my group had fun, next time I'll post better instructions for the air down spot. Again I'm sorry about that, but I feel a group that size would have made for a very long day on those trails. I'll post the few pics I have as soon as I download them. Thanks for a great time.

Nice pics Jim! That was a fun, relaxing trail after a week in JV......:) I must say, going DOWN that first fall got your attention quick!!! The flies were just damn crazy, but all in all a great day wheelin, with some good friends is always fun!!!!

I don't know were the leader went.

FYI... You were supposed to be the leader! We waited more than 30 minutes... this comment was unnecessary. If the "new" leader would have stopped the progression, you would have been waiting even longer.

Like I said in my trip report it was my mistake for not listing the exact air down spot. But it has always been at the end of the pavement, not in front of the new housing site. It doesn't matter who is leading, the person in front of a vehicle should always keep the person behind them in sight. If they don't see them get on the CB or go back and see if they need help.

Also as for you waiting 30 min. the group just 1/4 down the road also waited 30 min. for the rest of you to show up. I'm sorry for the mix up and if you had a bad outing.

Gary< I think Jim's Point here was that AFTER someone in your group BROKE, you BOTH continued down the trail, without even looking back or waiting!!!! The guy BEHIND YOU was broken!!!! WE helped him get his rig fixed!!!! If you guys had not taken off back down the trail so fast, you would have seen him broken. Thats where keeping the guy behind you in sight all times rule comes into play. If you had been the last one in line, and everyone infront of you had kept going and left YOU broke, how would you have felt???? I dont think this has ANYTHING to do with what time we all left or how the group got split up (BTW, You guys drove right past us as we waved to you) But how YOUR group got split up because people were not watching out for the one behind them. The has been a "rule" for as long as I have been wheeling too.

Joe

and a rule that can make or break a run into a bad one or good one...
