So when my wife and I started our slow remodel we decided that we wanted a Concrete Vanity Top in the front bathroon. I didn't know anything about them and I had never really worked with concrete so I was kind of a little nervous about it.
I ordered a kit from Fu-Tung Cheng Designs (www.concreteexchange.com). The Kit was $118.00 and came with the dye and sealer and Slurry for finishing the concrete surface. So I took some dimensions and made a mold for the countertop out of Mallamine(?spelling) and started mix and pour. Here is what I have after I de-molded the vanity top this last weekend.

We wanted somehtign to breakup the suface a little so we opted for a travertine and glass decco band inlay.

The only thing that I will do differently when I do the kitchen is buy the components for concrete and mix them myself. On this I used premixed QuickCrete 5000(Not ProFinish) with Water reducer as well for added strength considering the vanity top is only 1.5 Inches thick.
So what do you think. Keep in mind that the surface has to be slurried to fill all the bubbles and polished still.
