There's a burnt car on cottonwood rd out in Florence that's been there for way too long. If we were to drag up to the staging area/airdown spot, is there someone to call and get it out of there ?

I reported it the Pinal county sheriff a couple of months ago, but it was still there two weeks ago. If it's still there Monday I bet we could get it to the airdown spot if the county, BLM, insurance Co, or someone would take it after that.

Any recommendations ?

Well, my thoughts are if it was sitting in the airdown spot/parking area by the flagpole, in plain view from Hwy 79, its chances of quick removal by one of the listed agencies increases into the 90% range. Maybe they can't get someone on it right away but I think you would be helping by dragging it up.

That's what I was thinking as well. Any downsides to this plan ?

Anyone ?

I can think of a few downsides to this:

#1- Being charged with transportation of stolen property
or
#2- Possesion of stolen property.

#3- You never know how some of these county mounties want to handle things, what kind of mood they might be in.

#4- They might not like the way you look, so out comes the ticket book.

#5- They might like the way you look, so they decide to "take you" on a little ride in the back of their vehicle.

#6- They might suffer from tire size envy and take out your tires.

#7- What happens if you break your junk pulling out that junk?

Just a thought ! LOL !

could see it going just like any other stolen car/burnt/rolled/dumped car that gets pulled out. Lots of work, well worth it and no jail time so long as all the proper authorities are contacted. any possibility of gettin VIN off it and contacting the sheriffs? Otherwise just let em know and contact BLM to get the ok as well.

Im down for some helping out :D

at least 4 rusted burnt out cars were dragged out from table mesa to the airdown durring the cleanup last weekend. don't know why this would be any different. be sure you have a lead vehicle running out front to warn any on-comeing traffic

RokNRich asked for the possible downsides and yep, these could be downers. Very good points, should be considered, and contact with the Sherrifs office the day of activity definitely. I think the general consensus among the agencies is favorable towards us hauling the junk out. And I am available to help on this too. :)

The vehicles pulled out during the Table Mesa cleanup are still there as of Sunday 11/19 afternoon.

I am working with Patrick to get authorization to remove this and a couple other in that area. I was advised last month when our club was going to remove them, to wait and go thru channels.

We hauled out 6 vehicles at TM

But, as the man said earlier, you can get charged for handleing stolen property if you mess with them with out the agencies involved and the Sherrifs office (supposedly) can not give authorization to remove them from those areas

I just found a burnt up ricer in one of my beloved wheeling areas Saturday night. I guess I need to find out whose land it is...

Can a stock Jeep pull out a small car on its belly, or should I get some help (when the time comes, of course...)?

OK, you're invited to drive three and a half hours to Havasu to drive 10 minutes to the spot and help me pull this little ricer out and then we'll grill some burgers.:D

I was looking at it the same way as you, was just gonna go in there and pull it out, luckily Chris (My1stJeep) let me know the problems involved with that idea before we started, thats why I posted it on here, hate to see the greenies get you hammered for trying to do something good!!!

I have taken picks of 2 vehicles and associated trash and emailed it to him and I have the GPS coordinates. Now I am just waiting to see what the word is.
