Im putting in a switch to shut off the dome light when the door is off. So i saw that there are three wires for the #4 fuse. One is power(black on the right side) and then there are two coming out on the left (yellow with black line). So i cut the yellow on that was going to the passenger door thinking the door switches were wired in series. But now when i open the driver side door, the switch has no effect on the dome light. Are the two door switches wired seperatly. Does anyone know what both of the wires (yellow w/black line) go to? (light chime, driver switch, pass. switch??) WHere should i have cut it, or how should i do it??

If you have a TJ there is a fuse in the fuse box behind the glove box, that when you take it out it removes the ground for the dome lights. Check your owners manual it will point it out. If you cant find it, PM me and I'll look it up.

Well i know that its the #4 fuse.... but im connecting a switch to break the connection so that i dont have to remove and lose the fuse everytime. can i connect both wires coming out of the fuse, run it through the switch and split again to go to both sides of the vehicle??

Ok I checked pull fuse #4, that fuse is a ground fuse for the lights. Hope this helps. :)

Ok looking at a wiring diag. you can cut in front of the fuse (the black wire) and put your switch in there or cut both yel/black wires after the fuse and put it there.
