Nonsense. When combined with an ESS it'll be an inch shorter than many other options. Besides, strecth the wheelbase out where it should be for serious Az style crawling anyway and that settles that.

These crawl boxes have a few sources including the Mad Rooster version. The onyl thing I'd say is a downside is the fact that they use chain not gears, but you can use a HD chain and have a fair amount of beef. A 231 will take V8 power for some aount of time. The cases are weaker than an Atlas for example but I think they'll hold up to reasonable use.

On a budget, I'd go for it. I even have a set of planetaries left over from my 4:1 install I have been sitting on for that very purpose.

2.72 x 4 .... yikes. But behind a stock box it'd be great. You could wheel the dunes in 2.72 and run 7.4-ish for the extreme stuff.
