Martin,
What axle you ultimately should purchase is a function of how you intend to
use your Jeep after the axle is installed. Most of the Jeepers I know who
push the limits of their machines have D60s installed and they seem to serve
them well... If your rig is mostly a street rig with occasional weekend
trail use, the D44 will serve you well. I have a D44 and I have never had a
problem with it. I can't speak about the Ford 9" because I don't have any
experience with them (Plus I think that anything Ford SUCKS and I'd never
put it on my Jeep(don't get me started now... <grin>).
As far as setting up your gears; I would recommend that you take it to
someone to have it done if you've never done them... unless of course you
like to experiment with your own rig. The body lift can be done by yourself
and it is a simple install; definitely do it yourself.
Kind Regards,
Joe West

I receive all of the AVJC email directly into outlook express. I read it all and enjoy it. It's no problem to reply or reply to all. One problem is the quantity of email is overwhelming to my wife who shares the account. I'd like to start reading the email at YahooGroups but could use a few tips on how to change my preference in AVJC and to use yahoo groups. If anyone will be kind enough to write a few lines of instruction, I'll try it and then offer my 2 cents on the change/change back issue. If there's a source of instructions please direct me. Thanks

I agree. It will be more cluttered with the mail that should be personally directed. If more people that use their personal email instead of the website would respond we might get it set right.
But I also think if the majority uses the website we may have to live with it. :(

They're an AzVJC poll underway to see if the group likes the change. If more respond that they like it, it will be permanent. Go to the Yahoo club site and vote your preference.
Personally, I vote to change it back, to allow for replies to individuals. Right now, every reply goes to the whole group...which clutters the group e-mail (already very voluminous) with replies that would be better directed to an individual. My 2 cents.

Why has the web master changed our yahoo groups to keep us from replying directly to the sender of the e-mail? There are many instances when the group does not need the reply just the sender.

Hehehe....
Ford and Jeep are closely tied. I believe that jeeps were once
manufacutered by Ford. Many Ford parts swap well into Jeeps. Trannies and
engines often share the same bellhousings and bolt patterns. Ford 9" is the
most popular racing axle. NASCAR and drag racing. It can withstand huge
amounts of punishment. The downside of the 9" is the low pinion....but that
has not been a problem for me yet.

Individual emails. Send individual email messages
Daily digest. Send many emails in one message
Only special notices. Only send me important update emails from the group moderator.

Joey K,
Even tho this was for DougB I couldn't ignore it. I'm one of the people getting a lot of benefit from this club. Relatively new to jeeps and only moderately computer literate. Thanks

All please ignore this it is for DougB. :o

Martin,
What axle you ultimately should purchase is a function of how you intend to
use your Jeep after the axle is installed.
Kind Regards,
Joe West

All you RE control arm folks,
I have all 8 of my factory control arms sitting in a box. Please let
me know if you ever need some of the bushings. I would be happy to
donate them to a good home.

I have a '96 ZJ, V8, auto trans, Quadra-Trac and Trac-Lok rear.
Looking for east/northeast Phx/Scottsdale routine fluid change
service recommendations. I suppose a competent trans shop could do
it. I'd just feel better with someone whose worked on Jeeps before.
Thanks.

Joey K,
Even tho this was for DougB I couldn't ignore it. I'm one of the people getting a lot of benefit from this club. Relatively new to jeeps and only moderately computer literate.

Sure no problem.
You have a few options for reading email.
First you will have to go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/az_vjc/join. You may have to log in. As you scroll down you will see:
Message Delivery
Individual emails. Send individual email messages
Daily digest. Send many emails in one message
Only special notices. Only send me important update emails from the group moderator.
No email. Don't send me email, I'll read the messages at the Web site
You can choose one of the options that will best suit your needs.
I think this is what you are looking for.
Also if you notice, when replying with Outlook Express, the Reply and Reply to all net you the same destination email address.
