View Full Version : TIre size???
I just bought a 1990 Jeep Cherokee two door. It's completely stock. What is the biggest tire size I can put on it as it sits? If they rub a little bit, that's Ok...I have 33-12.50s on my Cj... they rub a little bit, nothing serious, a rub like that would be fine. Lifting this Cherokee is in the way, way, distant future, I need to know how big I can put on it now.
Thanks,
Brent

I had 31" on mine with a 2" BB and they rubbed slightly at full stuff. I would not go over a 29" in stock form unless you plan on trimming fenders.

30x9.5 as it sits
or
remove the flairs, cut the front & rear fenders and WHEEL 31x10.5's
If you want 32's then you will need lift. The stock springs are so week that the 32's will rub just pulling into the Quicky Mart....
The blue XJ is 32x11.5's on 7" wide rims and NO LIFT. YES THEY RUBBED

I've borrowed some electric shears that make a real clean cut. If I had any talent with them mine would look better than they do.
