Hello All,

Roger Tomas is leading an Unspecified trail run on Monday, December 31, 2001.

When: 9:00am
Where: Mile marker 11 on Carefree Highway (aka SR74).
This is about 10 miles west of Lake Pleasant.

Rating: None
Length: Maybe 3-5 hours depending
CB Channel: 4

This trail run will be to the old P4W Ranch out west of
Lake Pleasant. This area has a variety - hill climbs,
ledges, rocks, notches, off-camber, etc. To do all of the
obstacles, I recommend front and rear lockers, decent
clearance, and 33" or bigger mud tread tires. Lesser
set-ups can take some bypasses but I don't recommend stock
rigs.

We'll meet at the dirt road (aka the haul road due to its
use by a sand and gravel company?) on the north side of SR74
near mile marker 11. Once everyone is there, we'll travel
another mile or so down the freeway before leaving pavement.

I have a set of the original side steps that come on a TJ. I bought them in June from Jeep. I just got ORF side steps and want to sell the originals. They are in perfect condition. No scratches, dents, cracks or anything else. I have all mounting hardware. No drilling required, bolts right to the frame. Call or email with questions.

Tim,

I'm the one who called you last night. I still plan to meet at your
house at 9 am Saturday. If others plan to go and your house is not good for
them then maybe we can meet them at the southwest corner of I-10/Houghton at
9:30-9:45am.

You can also try using a trouble light with a 100w bulb if a block
heater is not available. This worked for my Montero when I visited my brother
in Gunnison, CO at -20. Just place the light directly underneath the oil pan
and make sure nothing will drip onto it.

Nick, Actually I do love the OX...It has been in my jeep scince the
lift/axles/gears/blah, blah blah was done....HOWEVER....I have set up
MANY sets of gears before (used to be part of my job
description..yuck) and I must say ..the OX was NOT as easy as it
should have been for a full case locker...In fact it actually
SUCKED....talked to the people at OX and they informed me that "a few
problems with the locker has surfaced BUT they have been remedied"
Like no pin for where the cable goes into the shifter, and the ring
gear side of the carrier was machined "slightly" too large "but all
you have to do is smooth it with some emery cloth" and so
on....Love the function and stoutness of the OX but IMHO I dont think
that I would do it again.......

Any thoughts on whether or not the SUV in Cove 2 will need to be sectioned
to get it out? I don't have a hot wrench, but I will be bringing my

Also, am I correct that we'll have a big Cummins diesel available for the
heavy pulling?

Well I have finally decided to fix my axle by swapping it out. I
currently have the D35c and was wondering should I go D44, D60 or
ford 9"? I am also going to re-gear and do a 1" body lift. Is this
job one I can handle by myself? I can turn a wrench, but I have
never done gear work. I am looking for some insight from individuals
who have gone before.

What are the requirements? time, tools, parts, and how much beer do
I need to get for all of you to stop by and help. ;) Any input
would be appreciated.

ps - the beer will be after the mods are done. :O)
