Just wondering if you can by a Superior Super 35 kit without out a locker, or even just a limited slip or something. i dont do enough wheeling to need a full locker, but i would like to not have to worry about breaking a shaft that much.
Are there any other good upgrades for the D35?
TIA, Brad
Brad,
Save your money.. If you don't wheel that hard or that much just buy some spares and be prepared to change a shaft every now and then.. Honestly.. Save your cash..

The Super Dana 35 have 30 spline shafts which won't work with stock Dana 35 27 spline carrier. Anyway my shafts did not break on my Dana 35 it was the carrier:eek:

Exactly right, I didn't know about the carrier thing until I actually bought the super 35 shafts. So here I sit with super 35 shafts and I'm using them to as a clothes rack in my room. (Its actually a rather expensive, and non-useful clothes rack by the way) Cheapest locker you can get is like 500ish for the 30 spline d35. I'll sell you my shafts cheap if you're wanting to go this route, but keep in mind, you'll be in for at least another 5 hundy if you decide to do it. Go get an 8.8 out of a newer-ish ford explorer found at a junkyard, you'll have a better axle (and correct me if I'm wrong..... limited slip?) and probably spend about the same after everything is said and done.
