I had a 2000 YJ that actually had a leak above the gas tank. I had to take it to the shop 3 times before they got it fixed. Something on the underbelly kept poking a hole in one of the hoses. I wouldn't have know about it the first time if someone hadn't flagged me down while I was driving to let me know. You might want to check that.
Leaking injectors...Gas tank....driving all over the valley...illegals syphoning from your tank....bad sender in the tank.... are a few off the top of my head.. :D

Why do the illegal need to be brought into this? They aren't the only people that steal gas.
But that would be my guess. Unless you have a newer vehicle (which should be equipped with an anti-syphon "valve" in the filler neck)

I have seen this right before a battery dies.

I think the illegal, gas drinking, homeless gnomes are at it again.

How many miles did you get on that tank in a day and a half? I get gas every other day but it's because I drive stupid miles to work and back.

What is the miles on your Jeep?
Did this just start?
How is it running?
When was the last tune up done?
If you have over 60,000 miles and no tune up I would look at that.
Bad spark plugs would couse for bad gas mileage.
Good luck.:D

Last I checked, stealing gas was indeed illegal... By that definition, anyone doing so would be an "illegal" regardless where they are from.

I get pretty terrible miles to the gallon in my 4 cyl YJ as well. Haven't calculated exactly, but under 200 miles to the tank. I attributed it to the big tires, low gear ratio, and the general "bricky" shape of Jeeps in general. I'm interested to see if you can come up with what is causing your gas mileage issue, I've just never had the ambition/know how to check my own.
