I've got the week off and was looking to do a run on Monday (without my kids)! Anyone up for a Willow Springs or FJ run? I was thinking if we hit FJ of taking another another shot at Upper Ajax.
Let me know if you wanna go!

I would be down for going but that is just way way way too far for me. You should come out and run the whitetanks. I know a really tough trail out there if thats the type of stuff you are looking for.

I have somebody from out of town on Monday and we are going to make a quick run thru Elvis Monday AM. I plan on leaving the area by 12 or 1. If you guys aren't tired of me, the more the merrier. I'm thinking around 0830-0900 at Price.

Also, jwohl and I ran upper woody and upper ajax last weekend - time for something else.

That sounds like a great time. Hmmmm, I've got a potluck at work on Monday. I'll see what I can do to get away. I would enjoy hanging with Rich and Lonnie and getting a chance to meet Bryan. I'll post up this weekend.

Rich,
That sounds good, and no, we're not quite sick of you yet!:D I didn't think my Dad would be coming, but he said that if he can be off the trail by 1:00 that he'd go (we've got family coming into town that he has to deal with ;) ). So we'll meet up with you @ price rd!

Skii4x4, although I'd like to play around in the White Tanks, I'd like to avoid all of the traffic on the way back home!

Huck and Lonnie, it'll be nice to meet nice to meet some new people, I hope you guys can make it out!

Well, as soon as I wanted to be hanging in FJ on Monday, I had appointment reschedule for Monday. I was also informed, that as a Manager, my presence was mandatory at the 'Potluck'. So, enjoy yourselves. Lonnie and Rich, I hope to see you guys soon and Scully, I look forward to wheeling with you in the future.
Thanks for posting up,
Huck

Huck & Charlie, sorry you guys can't make it, maybe next time!
TJ, it's been to long since you've got that jeep of yours dirty! DO IT!

I'm going to edit my first post to include trail info. Sign up on the poll so we can get an idea of how many are going!
Also, depending on how Elvis goes, anyone up for running some other trails?

Lonnie

I always liked Elvis as warm up for other trails. So wouldn't mind hitting something else while we're out there.

Hey, I'm willing to give it another try! Maybe I'll just stay in the Jeep and nothing will happen, ya think? Anyway, I can make it for the am and then I need to get back, maybe I can follow Rich out. Looking forward to finally doing Elvis.

Sorry Bryan,

Too much happening, and not enough time to get it all done, so I'm staying home to get it done before the crowd arrives. Enjoy your day on the trail without kids, or a dad telling you what to do;)

Talk later, have a great trip.

I am down.
I will be at the Circle K on Dobson & Guadalupe @ 8:00am. Not sure if anyone else is going to be there?

scully
11-20-2006, 06:37 AM
Sorry that you can't make it Dad, but I understand with family invasion that's around the corner!

Desertrat, I'll be @ circle K as well as vivisec (TJ)! See ya there!

And for all of those that have to work on this fine wheeling day, we'll have a moment of silence for you at the air down spot!:p

What a day! Between TJ (vivisec) and myself we managed to use up my spare D30 axle shafts and incur some mild fender damage. To top it off my 8.8 ECTED followed suit of my old D30 ECTED and gave up its ghost! It was a long drive home in 4wd, but I made it without any more issues!
Rich, Lonnie, and Mike. I had a good time wheeling with you guys and thanks for your patience while TJ and I tended to our trail repairs! Rich, thanks again for pulling me through the rest of the trail, your $100 is in the mail!
I'll post up some pics once I get them downloaded.

TJ, I'm not going to mess with the 8.8 tonight, but I'll give you a call in the morning when I figure out whats going on.

Great day except for the 2 broken axels. Sorry to see that guys :(

Scully had just about everything in his Jeep for any type of repair, it would not surprise me if he had an extra tub in there :D

We will have to run that again, this time with a vengeance :D

Sounds like you guys had some fun. What trails did you run?

We only ran Elvis due to the carnage. Everyone made it out safe and it was still a good time. Just sad to see our fellow Jeepers broken :(

That's the funny part Charlie. "Trails" doesn't apply here. We only ran Elvis, didn't make it half way through before I blew a drivers side axle shaft u-joint trying to make it threw the bowl. Scully's ECTED had been acting a little funny through the bowl but it finally completely gave way as he was trying to make it up over the nasty hill and his ARB up front overcompensated on the passenger side shaft in his rig. Rich and Scully both got some pictures of the carnage, don't know if they will post it up though.

Great run, great group of guys to go out with if you ever get a chance. Lonnie is a hoot.

Sounds like everyone made it home (L), figure out what's wrong with that rear end and get if fixed Bryan.

Not a bad day, I'd rather be out on the trail swapping stories and axles than work anyday.

Too tired to do pic's now........

A bad day on the trail is way better that any great day at work.

Bryan I may have to look into the impact wrench, that came in really handy especially today;).

Now the next time we will have to use Elvis as the warm up and hopefully have time to do another trail.

It was a good wheeling day, and nice to meet all you guys, hopefully we can do it again without all the little problems.

Sorry hear about that P.O.S Ected. I hope that it's a simple fix. Maybe it's time for a detroit locker.
I can't wait and see the pic's. It really sucked not being able to make it today.

On the upside, we ran the bowl !

"The Bowl"???

You mean the optional line to the far right at the "2nd" obstacle area (the area a little ways after the rockpile the YJ is climbing in pic #3 above)? There's a 2-2.5 ledge in the middle of the trail, a bypass that's basically a dirt road up-n-over, and "The Bowl" is far right, taking you into a little "bowl", then up a hard left ledge climb, part way up the canyon wall, then finally around to the trail again?

That's a fun line!...Pics???

11-21-2006, 07:50 AM
Yeah, that's the one Tom. I hadn't run it before, every time I was out there this year there weren't even any tracks in it, but looked doable. Last year I seen a couple people run it, but it was ugly. It's actually what got Bryan and TJ's rigs so I guess it's still kinda ugly, lol. I didn't get any pic's in there :(

TJ, you don't have to use Marcine as your cover for "cute" pics. I know your a softy!:D

Here's all of the "cute" ones I have.
