You can see how a bushing type CA would stress the CA mounting tab.
I thought anyone considering new CA's would find this interesting.

Times 2.
I have been useing them for about a year and 10 months and the only issue I have had with my control brackets came when I slammed them into a rock unboxed. Now I've got HD brackets that are boxed in the front and don't see them getting messed up anytime soon.
Want a better bracket though, box those bad boys in.

Is there a pre-made bracket for this or do they just weld the two tabs to a metal plate?
I have seen the bolt-on CA skids but this is different, right?
Who would be a good choice to do this welding for me?

Brian, you don't need these, you can't hit those mounts on the curb at work. :D
But I will have to check them out, see if they can make BIGGER ones...

YEP.
Been running them since 2001. IMO, the RE short arm is best "out of the box", "bolt on", "bang for the buck" as a moderate wheeler..
Just keep the Jonny Joints greased and they will last you many years. The "old style" bushing on the frame/unibody side would push out and need to be replaced every 2 years or so, depending on the amount of flexing. The "New Style" seems to work better on that end.
As for the mini-skids, you could pick up a set at 4Wheelers and weld them on, or if you have the ability, a piece of 4x4x3/16's steel could be cut as a wedge and welded on.
Good luck, and have fun with your kit. Your Jeep looks good. ;)

How are the onroad characteristics versus a rubber bushing?

Thanks! I really like it. My XJ is getting jealous. It has been delegated as "Grocery Getter". I have not had it out wheeling since I got the TJ.
And, Thanks for the pics of the of the skids Shnipe.

I notice no negative factors. I added them at the same time as the new coils and I really think it rides nicer than stock.

Never noticed any negatived from them either on the rroad.
My brackets too were replacement ones from RE. The are smaller and have more clearence then the stock ones. I got them done at Hunter's and he put some 3/16's on the front to box them in. I don't have pics on this computer but if you want to see, I can post up Thursday night.
