What is the measurement from the (top) edge of the door sill (where the flat part of the rocker panel actually starts) to the bottom edge of the rocker panel/body on a 97 TJ? My rockers are so chewed up, I can't get a good measurement to find the right size angle iron to build some rocker guards. It's so bad, they'll have to go all the way up to the edge of the sill and be notched out to show the Jeep logo, just to cover the damage on both sides.
TIA...

6-1/8" +/- a bit
I have the Sahara plastic so it is difficult to measure.

But I have off-your-rocker panels on my rockers so the measurement may be skewed a bit...

6 1/4 off a 97 sport.

It's a lot easier to live with 1/4 inch of trail damage than 6-1/4 inch worth... :p

Speaking of rockers.....I was on Upper Terminator the other day and took a rather odd line over an obstacle. I couldn't see that the right tire was going to drop several feet (like about 3 1/2) and when it did, my frickin' fillings rattle in my back teeth! WOW!! The nice part was that the rockers took it in stride and I ended up with some ground up rock dust imbedded in the powder coating. I can live with that. :D

Here you go... this is to elaborate what I started with the email.
This first one is mine with the 4"angle.

This is another style. Basic idea, take 3/16" plate the length of your rockers and have a bend put in it. Then you can make it go as high up the rockers as you need.
