I confirmed with the promotion company again that a book of 25 tickets
would sell for $125. That's $5 a ticket Compared to $9. I think that's
even cheaper than kids tickets. I have 3 people including myself
interested, for a total of 10 tickets.

John,

To the best of my knowledge, only Garmin produced software is capable of
uploading any map data to their receivers. They have kept this proprietary

I bought a Garmin ETREX Legend, and I want to try out Garmin's TOPO!
software before I but it.

Does anyone have it?

What do you think of it?

Has anyone in the club added the routes for the different trails?

TOPO! costs $100.00. That's fine, but if there is a better one that I
can download the topo maps to my Legend from, I'd be interested in
what everyone else has found. I heard that TOPO! is the only one that
downloads the topo maps to my Legend. Most of the software out there
allows me to upload/download ROUTES and waypoints, but no topo map
information. I thought I saw a separate software program that allows
me to indirectly load the topos, like National Geographic's Arizona
Topo at REI. Has anyone seen this?

I skimmed right over that. Here is a clip from the OziExplorer Help.

Garmin

Direct upload and download support of waypoints, routes and tracks is
provided for most Garmin receivers.

Map upload to Garmin mapping units is not supported.

Subject: Urgent, Lift help needed!!

I need you guys to come thru for me on this one…….PLEASE.

I want to hit the coves to help with the pull this weekend but here's
my issue.

I'm installing a lift on the xj. A daystar 1¾ lift spaceer and a
new leaf in the rear. I got the front spacers in and all done with
no real issues, first wheel took alittle longer than the second but
it is my first lift experience. I thought it was pretty simple for
being my first time.

The 2 problem I've encountered is with the rear are following: After
disassembling the u-bolts and the nut that holds the pack together I
can't get them to separate enough to get the new, nicely arched leaf
into the pack. I was using jackstands and the whole bit, I simply
couldn't do it. It looked like w/o (imo) removing the leaf pack and
repacking it, it could not be done. This in itself isn't a big deal
(I don't think) except I couldn't break the hanger bolts as they are
quite big. Any insight on this???

The above was problem 1. Problem 2, is it also looks like I need to
extend the rear brake line. When I had the leaf ubolts off and axle
dropped, it appeared that given the degree of the new arch and the
tension already on the brake line at the dropped point that the line
is not going to be to short when all is done. Of course, this is
from an untrained eye and am relying on opinions/help from you all.
Does this sound right?

PLEASE….as I already have the front done and I really want to get to
the coves and help this weekend can someone(s) help me finish up
installing my Christmas gift. I'll supply the pizza and beverage of
choice.
Thanks,
Fergus

According to the adds in JP and Petersen's, the 4wheel expo is only 3
days, Jan 4-6th. Look in any current issue for more details.

For the leafs you can use a pair of C-clamps to help you disassemble and
reassemble them.

The break line, I am not sure about (I have a YJ), but I just removed
the break line from the bracket that was holding it to the frame. Have
not had a problem since.

Hope this helps.

I thought i read somewhere that the 4X part of this show was only on 1-4,1-5,1-6-02 these days only not the whole time

David:

Somewhere I read the 4x4 show comes "after" the Expo for the regular
cars. Could be wrong. Won't be the first time.

Mike,

What kind of SYE did you purchase? Cut and tap output shaft kind or take
apart the transfer case and install kind?
