Will try once again to get rid of these...

Set of 4 33x12.50 General Grabber ST's on 15x8 Enkei rims (5 hole, Gambler

tread left. I may even have a Discount Tire Warrantee for the tires. Will
fit TJ, YJ, XJ or anything with 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern. Only $275.

Reply direct or call 480-924-2622.

Man was there a ton of crap on my 84' 258cid.

Mark and Dan did a great job and got my injection on in a time pinch, we
really appreciate it. They cleaned all of the BS out and did a neat job
running the harness. Things are mounted the right way for crawling.

It works with my Jacobs and runs smoother then it ever did. Chris was able
to idle up onto the trailer at 700 rpm. That is cool.

We will probably go on a test run Monday up at Table Mesa.

I had the sending unit seal re-done under some warrenty about a year ago. I have pulled the gas filler hoses of the nozel before so I don't think that will be a huge problem if I have to drop the tank. I was thinking, since I had pulled those hoses off (to do the 15 to 19 gall conversion) that it may be there where I am failing the test. So I siliconed the ends of those hoses....So....It may be a pain in the *** getting those off....forethought huh? I think I may just go do the test again in the morn and see if the silicone sealed any air leaks. If not, I got to get this done quick, like before the end of the month!

We had to drop our tank to replace the sending unit seal. If you have never dropped the tank before, you will find that you will have to cut the rubber lines to get the tank to drop. They installed the tank and lines before they put the body on. Buy replacement fill hoses--have them on hand, as you will probably have to cut them also, due to not being able to get them off of the fitting/filler neck. Since your new lines will be longer, be careful as you re-install the tank that you don't kink them. This is a big pain in the rear to do, but you won't have to worry about it for another 10 years.

Ok, I just noticed on my emessions report that it says, gas cap pass, evap components pass, pressure test fail. So, I'm kinda lost. I'm thinking it's just the hoses from the charcol canistor back? I'm gonna have my bro-in-law help me out this noon and hook a bicicle pump to the hose or something...

Subject: [TR] Lake Pleasant to Crown King - Monday, December 24, 2001

Hello All,

Mike Chatfield is leading a Lake Pleasant to Crown King trail run on Monday, December 24, 2001.

When: Meet @ 8:30am
Roll Out @ 9:00am
Where: Meet at the Turn-Off to Lake Pleasant
Rating: 3.0-
Length: 5hrs+
CB Channel: 4

Taking the wife and kids up the back way to Crown King to look for some snow. I don't plan to take my time heading up there though and plan to be on top of the mountain looking for snow in time for lunch.

The Lake Pleasang to Crown King trail is a local favorite. On any given weekend, there will be numerous groups of four wheelers, ATV's and motorcycles heading to and from Crown King. It is a fun and scenic trail into the cooler pines of the Bradshaws. This trail was the first trip ever done by AzVJC.

The trail takes off from the Castle Hotsprings Rd and travels through the foot hills and up the side of the mountain, giving nice views of Lake Pleasant and the Valley. There are some tougher optional sections that can make it interesting.

The trail goes through the old ghost towns of Fort Misery and Oro Belle, both of which are remnants of the Mining era of the Bradshaw Mountains. All that remains now, are foundations and a few crumbling walls. Fort Misery makes a nice place to stop and eat lunch as the small creek usually has running water and there are trees to provide shade.

In the winter months, the trail from Fort Misery through Oro Belle to Crown King will often have snow and/or ice. In the summer, an early start is necessary to stay ahead of the rising temperatures.

Once on top of the mountain, the trail runs through the cool pines and into Crown King. In Crown King there are places to eat and have a drink, and a general store that sells some excellent fudge.

There are campgrounds on top of the mountain near Crown King for those wishing to stay overnight. The fastest way down is via the main road which leads through Cleator and toward Bumble Bee. You can split off and go through Cordes Junction, which will get you to the Freeway quicker, or keep going strait and go through the little town of Bumble Bee.

Alternatively, you can take the Senator Highway toward Prescott or Mayer, this can be a very interesting trail during snow season. If you have the time, follow Towers Mountain rd through Crown King and up to the top of Towers Mountain, there are some excellent views and you can join back up with the Senator Highway afterward.

Have fun, remember to bring water and your camera.

Enjoy, and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Here are directions from central Phoenix

* Take the 202 to Country Club in Mesa.

* Go left (north) on the Beeline (SR87?) to the Saquaro Lake turn-off.
It'a about 20 miles out going this way. You Pass Fountain Hills and
cross the Verde River.

* Go right (south) on Bush Hwy (The Saquaro Lake turn-off)

* Go left (east) at the Butcher Jones Recreation Area sign. There is a
fee station, but since we aren't using the facilities, don't bother to
pay unless you plan on staying there a while. The green gate is in the
back by the Great Western Trail Sign.

From Chandler or Gilbert or Mesa

* Go east to Power Rd on any major east-west street.
* Go norht on Power Rd. You'll go over the Salt River and by the Saquaro
Lake Ranch and Marina entrance before getting to the Butcher Jones
Recreation Area.
* Turn right at Butcher Jones and the green gate is in the back of the
parking lot.

Subject: Front Torsion bar off center.....help

I need knowledge, advice and help. Went on a little trip today
nothing real rough just up behind Lake Pleasant northwest side then
over to I-17 and back. I have a 02 TJ with a 3-inch Teraflex lift
with Quick disconnects. Though it wasn't needed I disconnected at the
turn off for Humbug Creek from Crown King. Some 10 to 15 miles later
I went to reconnect at the Table Mesa on ramp and found that my front
torsion bar has slid to the driver side to the point I can not
reconnect one of my disconnects. A little history, just had the lift
put in 2 weeks ago this is only the second time out and neither trip
where that extreme. I have noticed lately that when I accelerate my
TJ move to the left and when I decelerate it move to the right. If
either action is even slightly aggressive (this is on highway) I have
to steer to correct. I didn't think much of this at first but now
that my front torsion bar is off center now I am wondering? Ok before
I tear it a part (my wife's suggestion) go back to my lift
installation shop and have them work it. My idea is let's take the
cover off the front torsion bar and at least inspect for loose mounts
or something.

So to bring things to a close, 1) do torsion bars move side to side?
2) Do TJ's dive to the right when the gas is left off suddenly. Any
wisdom would be appreciated.

JT's 02 TJ

Why not setup a poll on our yahoo groups page and have us vote on it? I

Is the swaybar off center or is it the axle? You can measure from the frame
to the outside of the tire (same point on both sides) to determine which one
it is. If it is the axle then your front track bar is used to center the
axle, if it is the sway bar you should be able to just push it back to
center and hook up the discos.

JT,

The front torsion bar "floats" in the bushings just in front of the grille.
All you need to do is spray a little soapy water on the sway bar near the
bushings, push the sway bar up and down to get the soapy water in-between
the sway bar and the bushings and then slide it back over where it belongs.

Kind Regards,

Joe West
