I am trying to find a little snow for tomorrow morning. I want to
take the family somewhere up I-17 and then maybe a level 2.5 or lower
road. Can anyone tell me where there's a nice spot to stop and play a
bit? Want to leave about 7am.

Thanks,

Hello All,

Joey Kulich is leading a Gila Monster trail run on Saturday, December 22, 2001.

When: Meet at 8:30 AM leave at 9:00 AM
Where: The gas station at Jackrabbit and McDowel. On the north side of the free way.
Rating: 3.0+
Length: 4 hrs (dep. on # of Jeeps)
CB Channel: 4/ FRS 4

Gila Monster is a short wash in the Buckeye hills. There are a few obstacles with a couple of bypasses. I am recommending 32" tires or better with decent lift.
We will be heading to Cheap Trick for those so inclined. Cheap Trick is much more difficult. 35s, f/r locker, and substantial lift is required. Winch is recommended but not necessary.

Hello All,

Randy Davis is leading a Terminator (Upper) trail run on Saturday, December 22, 2001.

When: 8:30
Where: parking lot
Rating: 4.0+
Length: about 2 hours
CB Channel: 4

Upper Terminator can best be described as:
Rocks, waterfalls, off-camber spots and more rocks! Big Rocks.

Whereas there are several by-passes, even the by-passes have taken it's toll on sheet medal and paint.

This trail definitely requires full hard lockers in front and rear, lots of clearance, aggressive tires 33" or larger and an experienced driver.

Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Subject: silly replying?

Is there a reason that this mailing list is set up as default to reply to
the message poster rather than the group? I've been on a lot of newsgroups
before, and this is the first time I've ever seen this type of setup. The
general thinking is that we'd all like to hear the replies, so it would be
better to default the reply address back to the group. If people have
something to say offline then they can always copy and paste. Sure, it's
easy enough to cut and paste the mailing list address in the 'to' field,
but I find myself often forgetting to do this (as I'm sure a great many
other people do). There have been many times when someone has posed a
great question and I'm sure they got lots of replies (which other people
would like to read) but they all got sent directly to that user. I've
received lots of replies off line that others would no doubt also be
interested it...... can we change this?

I am starting to disagree with that statement. I think it used to be
true when there were a few really bad aftermarket parts manufacturers (I
won't mention names, but if you have been 4-wheeling more than 10 years
you have probably bought stuff from them and threw it away in disgust)
so you had to build your own. Now there is such a large variety of high
quality aftermarket parts for the newer Jeeps (except XJs and ZJs) that
the statement really ought to be "real jeeps are bolted together not
built"!

If you have a large spare I would go with a rear carrier to keep the center of gravity down. It's also a ***** to get anything much bigger than a 31" down from the roof rack of a lifted Jeep.
