I'll take the tailgate!!
can you send me pix of the hood ??? I'm thinking of running a YJ grill and a YJ rock crawler fiberglass hood, but if this one is in good shape I may be interested in it..

as I posted in other thread, why would you want adapter from AMC TH400 to cheby 350? chevy TH400's are cheap / I did not know they ever made adapter. The adapter I have is from the early GM th400 housing ( I am told it bolts to Caddilac big block, and a couple others ) to the AMC V8 (290/304/343/360/390/401) or 6cyl (230,258).
Bring Sam (brewer/patriot:D ) and I'll let you have the TH400 housing too (because was fresh rebuild, stole guts to put in AMC pattern TH400 (used 76-80 mostly with Quadra Trac, but some were hooked to Dana20)

Reason is I already have a rebuilt AMC pattern TH 400 from a 78 Cherokee that I am considering putting in my 53 Willys Pickup that has a older 350 Chevy in it already. Currently it has a manual transmission that I can't operate the clutch on due to problems with the left leg. Advanced Adapters makes these but they aren't cheap.

is your TH400 set up for the dana 20? Most TH400's that came out of Cherokee's/wagoneer/J10/J20 were hooked to quadratrac. Key ID is long, widespline (think is 19spline) output. To hook to D20, you need to change output (that is what I am doing to mine) to short/fine spline output and have correct adapter
I would look for Cheby pattern TH400 :much cheaper and I hate having all sorts of adapter crap (which is why I am eliminating adapter on mine)

If does have a quadadrac on it currently, I am considering going with the Spicer 18 transfer from the 53 Pickup

If it does have the quadra trac, to hook to the D18 (or anything other than Qtrac) you need to completely dissasemble (that's what I'm doing to mine) and replace output shaft with 30spline short shaft. You also need proper adapter (kinda rare) to the 18/20
Personally, I would have no problem running with qtrac: will match up to your D18 axle (rear output on right side). I have run one for years in my J10 and love it. Full time 4wd is great (expecially in pu in the rain): you can get into the throttle in turns real hard and not have your back end pass you. The Qtrac is a highly (and IMHO) maligned tcase due to people not being able to understand the simple workings of the vacum shifter.
give me a call (I've left a couple of messages)
