The name axle alley does seem to imply something. Did it get its name from
broken axles? I haven't had much experience. Had my jeep about a year,
never had to use the winch. I wonder, in the desert canyons and trails what
do you find to tie to with the winch? Around rocks? I've wondered about
that for a long time.

If I'm correct, it's been a # of years.
There is an axle hammered in to the ground that a lot of people use to winch off of.

On runs that require winching, there usually is a winch point established...and axle driven into a rock, or a stout tree. Axle alley has both.
As a followup to an earlier question, Axle Alley is really for experienced drivers with well built rigs. If you haven't done much in the way of harder rock crawling, this is not a good trail to start on. Lower Ajax or lower Raw Deal are better trails to cut your teeth on (Class 3+).

Subject: It's like Brand new
I finally got finished replacing the Tera 2.5 year old bushings on my LCA's
and installing new/used Tera UCA's with new bushings. It ended up being
quite a job with all my prior mods (air tank in the way, air lines running
through stock UCA's & a aftermarket exhaust). But man, it rides like brand
new, no rattles or clunks. Also, I noticed in the high speed transition
lanes, that curve (like 101 to 60), I don't have to fight the steering wheel
as much. I also adjusted my pinion angle a bit, the rear brakes & the
steering wheel had to be aligned. I won't wait so long to do this again.
I did have a few questions, on the Tera adjustable rear UCA's where do you
hook up the Ebrake cable? Why would the steering wheel position get moved?
Is there any alternative to Tera's bushings, something that last longer?
There was diff fluid in my rear air line, not a bunch maybe 2 table spoons,
if that much, do I need to replace the o-ring(s) in my locker? (There was no
fluid in the front line).
Oh yeah, anybody off work/school/whatever or just want to play hooky
Wednesday or Thursday and want to play?
TIA

Um, thanks! That sounds easy enough! Appreciate it. That is
for the 2.5L, right? Are the bolt holes the same for the 4.0? I
would guess "yes", since it would be easier to make frame mounts at
the factory that way... You never know til you ask.

I am under the impression that the brackets that come off the motor
are not identical on the 6 as on the 4. Also, I've been told the
6cyl motor mounts are located in a different location on the frame,
but I cannot confirm this.
The difference between the 6cyl and 4cyl is in the brackets that come
off the motor itself. The distance between the two "arms" (that the
motor mount rests in) is different, with the 4cyl being smaller.
When I did my MM on my 4cyl, no one was manufaturing 4cyl MM, so I
had to buy 6cyl mounts and make them smaller so they would slide into
the brackets that come off the motor. Some others have had to do
this as well.

Subject: fr-42 nice trail
well my friend and i did fr-42 today, got a late start, but had a
blast. it was just two jeeps (YJ'S) and ran into another member who
was finishing up the trail. it was the first real trail i did since
i did the soa, and i tell ya, it was the perfect place to test the
flex. there are so many off camber situations through out the trail
that made the run so exciting. the lake is way down so we got to play
in the mud and had tug-a-war, fun time. i forgot the dig. camera, so
if anyone is up for a later run some time this month i am definitely
down. however, i did break my welded spider gears, so no longer
locked up in the front :( but managed to do the rest of the trail
with no problem at all be cause my flex was so good ;) YJ'S rule!!!
sorry for those who couldn't make it we got a late start. definitely
next time.
thanks to jason laliberty for giving me directions to the trail.

Subject: Clutch probs.
The last couple of days (cold?) after, driving a few my tranny gets harder and harder to get into gear. I can shift fine when it's cold but by the time I get to work I'm fighting to shove it into first. It seems it is also grabbing when the pedel is barely off the floor. It's just gotten like this the past couple of days.
I've checked the fluid and the clutch is about 2 years old. I tried to bleed it a couple of weeks ago but couldn't budge the bleeder screw!
A friend mentioned the possiblitly of needing to adjust the play in the pedel? Any other suggestions?

$2,400!!! is that really how much a tube bender runs?? I have plans for a

(not including dies of course) and I've seen a working example so I know it
works.

TIA

Sorry if this is a double post, I haven't seen the other and I got an
error message.
The block needs to be 2-5/16" x 4-7/16" with holes or whatever on 3-
7/16" centers. The one hole in the mount is 7/16", not sure what size
the stud is.

Um, thanks! That sounds easy enough! Appreciate it. That is
for the 2.5L, right? Are the bolt holes the same for the 4.0? I
would guess "yes", since it would be easier to make frame mounts at
the factory that way... You never know til you ask.
Thanks again,

That was off a 4.0L but I believe the frame mounts are the same, just
the upper part is slightly differnt.
