The name of the perfume is Intimate Essence... Joyce's son purchased it at
the dollar store in Mesa.
It kind of smelled like... cheap perfume; very fitting for Spanky (aka spank
yer monkey).

If you are going to buy new and aren't in a hurry then special order
exactly what you want. You pick every option you want and have them
build a TJ to order, but it takes about 6-8 weeks. You can choose
which axle, gears, radio, etc. I wish I had known this when I got
mine. You can probably find a dealer with an internet or fleet sales
dept that will order for you and only charge you about 400 to 500
over dealer invoice.
Let me know if you need any help getting a deal as I have a few
connections in the car biz.

Subject: Another positive experience; 4 Wheeler's Supply comes through!!!
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to let everybody know that Brian (one of the owners of 4
wheeler's supply) and Barry (parts guy) really came through for me.
Warn's spindle design for their full floater kit was originally produced
with non-hardened spindles. Warn had requested that I take off my old rear
spindles and send them in, and then they would send me new ones. Obviously,
I didn't want my Jeep down for the week it would take Warn to process my
return, so Brian at 4 wheeler's supply ordered the parts from Warn, GAVE me
the new parts at no cost and then, when I replaced the spindles this weekend
and gave him the old ones; he sent them back to Warn.
A couple of things to note here. First, if you have any problems ever with
4 wheeler's supply... Ask to see Brian. Never... not once... has Brian
failed to do the right thing for me. Second, if you want a parts counter
guy who will go out of his way for you, make sure you see Barry. He's
really jumped through some hoops to get stuff for me and to give me the
biggest discount that 4 wheeler's can give.
Oh yes... this brings up one final point. If you tell 4 Wheeler's supply
that you are a member of the AZVJC they will give you the club discount. I
believe that there has been some confusion on this point, but I just spoke
with Barry and they have the AZVJC listed as an official club and we get the
same discount as all the other "official"? clubs do.
Kind Regards,
Joe West

David,
my wife bought both our new Jeeps (and a friend's Jeep) through fleet sales at Pitre in Scottsdale. Just walk past the salespeople right to the fleet sales person. Order what you want and it should arrive in 6-8 weeks.
As for getting a Sahara, I would also suggest looking at an upgraded Sport model. That way you can get the options you want and skip the ones you don't.

David,
If you pay more than $200 over invoice for a custom ordered TJ you are
crazy! Keep looking. There is 3% padded into the invoice price of all Jeeps
which is to allow the dealer to finance the cost of the Jeep while it sits
on the lot waiting to be sold. If you order a Jeep that 3% is all profit to
the dealer since he never has to try and sell it.
Do your homework and you'll get a sweet deal. I paid $200 over invoice on
mine. I walked in the door, told them what I wanted and how much I was
willing to pay. I had all the invoice prices in my coat pocket from varius
internet sites. If they give you any grief just venture over to another
dealer. Some dealers were willing to go as low as $100 over invoice. Shop
around.
Where you might get screwed is if you go to trade. You can always sell it on
your own. But keep in mind that if you do trade that amount is subtracted
from the purchase price when they go to figure out how much sales tax to
charge which can amount to alot. Sometimes the extra money saved in sales
tax isn't worth the trouble of selling it on your own. This works best with
a trade in with a higher value.

I wasn't trying to single you out; I hope it really didn't sound that way.
Just trying to make a point that IF spacers are used, I hope they are used
on trail only vehicles. I actually agree with you that generally spacers are
bad (with the possible exception begin the 1/4" spacer Scott is using to
clear the Automatic Wheel Balancers), but would much rather have them fail
on the trail vs on the road.

I have had bad experiences and seen and heard many bad stories from the
other big shops intown. I could not imagine having a business where you
don't care what people say about you.
It is a 30-45 minute drive to get to 4wheelers for me. Or 10-15 minutes to

I'll go back <grin>

I am curious as to the additional loading wheel spacers apply to the wheel
bearings themselves. Stock offset takes into aco**** the weight rating of
the bearings and adding a spacer could only change the lever moment on the
bearings increasing the load and time-to-failure. Comments.

What a great experience with Rick at Discount Tire. Both my friend
and I got a set of BFG KM's from him yesterday. He had the right
sizes in stock, gave us a great deal on them, and set it up so we
could get them siped at their Prescott location. All in one
afternoon. I don't know why anyone would go anywhere else for
tires. Thanks for the help Rick.

I echo Joe's sentiments exactly. Don't know Brian, but I always deal
with Barry and he treats me well. That's the reason I'll drive the
extra distance out of my way to spend my money at 4Wheelers.

Pitre Jeep in Scottsdale will automatically do $200 over invoice. Just say
you saw them on the Internet, which you can also get your price from (sorry,
don't remember the URL). They will want an email address to record you as an
Internet buyer. This also applies to Jeeps off the lot. I had a good buying
experience from them, but never have needed to use their service department.

David,
If you pay more than $200 over invoice for a custom ordered TJ you are

believe that there has been some confusion on this point, but I just spoke
with Barry and they have the AZVJC listed as an official club and we get the
same discount as all the other "official"? clubs do.
Kind Regards,
Joe West

Or 10-15 minutes to
the other guys. I have no problem driving the extra distance to go there

I am curious as to the additional loading wheel spacers apply to the wheel
bearings themselves. Stock offset takes into aco**** the weight rating of
the bearings and adding a spacer could only change the lever moment on the
bearings increasing the load and time-to-failure. Comments.

It's really dead out there.
Has anyone done the ZJ draglink conversion on their TJ? Can you tell me how much it cost, how it works, etc.

I know the people at www.oxtrax.com made wheel spacers. I'm not sure of their availability now. I really wanted 4 of them as they were super rugged and I liked the look. Not to mention the bit more stability.

And from the article I quote:
"It should be noted that wheel spacers will not pass inspection in
many states and that the manufacturer states on the disclaimer that
the wheel spacers are intended for off-road use only!"
Please, if you do use these wheel spacers on your daily driver, let
me know so that I can keep an eye out for you on the freeway and keep
my family as far away as possible.

David,
If you pay more than $200 over invoice for a custom ordered TJ you are

David-
If you are going to buy new and aren't in a hurry then special order
exactly what you want.
