Yep, it's illegal to produce but not illegal here to possess and consume. :) There's also a loophole that allows you to buy it online and have it shipped here. I believe it has to do with the fact that it's not actually considered a liquor since there's no sugar added....and the law basically allows wormoil or whatever the "bad" ingredient is if it's used for non-consumption purposes. So if I have this right you can have it shipped to you if you claim you're not going to consume it... but once you have it the law states that you're allowed to actually consume it. :D Funny funny rules.

No really, my wife had it at that friends house a couple weeks back. Me being almost fanatical about researching everything I spent some time on the Internet. Perhaps it's because I really don't watch TV (except history and discovery channel I suppose) or play video games. I sometimes spend all night reading about the smallest stupid detail of something. For example, I may decide one day I want to learn more about the docility of steel. I'll probably spend a full week 5 hours a day reading everything in the world I can find on the subject. I'm that insane.

Anyway to finish up, I spent a few hours yesterday reading stories about that particular fine (but bad tasting) beverage. Perhaps this is why my head is filled with pretty much useless facts? If it's useless and you want to know about it let me know....I'll spend all week researching it. :D

BTW, another benefit of now knowing more about absinthe is I now know what to get my wife to drink to fullfill my fantasy of a couple circus midgets, a lion, and a case of motoroil in bed. J/k on that one... or maybe not. :eek:

I thought about going on a game show. My wife wants me to. But I'd end of losing because of doing something stupid.

For example, I was watching that millionaire show one day and there was the question about the temperature water boils. There were the usual options one being of course 212 degrees. I being the smart arse I am told my wife, "well technically water can boil at any termperature depending on pressure". They weren't specific on the elevation. One of the temperatures was actually pretty close to 212 so depending on the elevation you boild it at it really could be the "correct" answer. I guess I'm a smart arse (you may have noticed that) as well as my other flaws. It drives my wife nuts when I respond to an answer by starting out with, "well technically. . ."
