Club Members,
Remember to take a copy of message 36427 from DougB when you go to
buy parts from Darner. Some of the service staff have not been
informed of the 25% parts discount. I showed them a copy of the e-
mail - no problem. They even gave me a build list for my VIN number.

Morning

Is anyone running a AMC 20 in their CJ? I was wondering how well they hold up and what is the maximum size tires they will handle.

Mike,

Would it be possible for you to disable the ability of anyone to attach
files to their emails? I believe that this is a feature you can disable or
enable on yahoogroups.

I am getting SO MANY virus files at my work account that I will have to
unsubscribe from my work account if the virus problem doesn't stop soon. I
belong to six other yahoo groups and NONE of them have attachments enabled
and of course; I don't get any virus attachments.

Please... PLEASE... disable attachments if you have not already done so. I
believe that the time has come to stop this nonsense; people apparently
cannot understand what it means NOT to open attachments. It is absolutely
not necessary to have attachments enabled. You may have already disabled
this feature... if so... THANK YOU!!!

Kind Regards,

Joe West

What's a "Quicktrip"? There is a Phillips 66 just north of I-10 at JackRabbit and a circle-K just to the south. I assume the Phillips 66 is the meeting location.

Where: Quicktrip @ I-10 & Jackrabbit Trail Rd just north of I-10.
Rating: 2.0+
Length: 3 hours +or-

Any questions just e-mail me.
Mike

The South end of the White Tanks has a variety of trails for exploration. Cutting through the top is an old powerline trail that goes from the old Catapillar test track all the way out to the Hassayampa Riverbed.

There are also numerous washes to explore, the furthure up the washes you go the tougher they get. There are a variety of side trails and hill climbs to try as well as a large hill of sand left over from when they were building I-10.

Some of the Named Trails in the area include:

Does this discount apply to all parts across the board or are there
limitations? There are some pretty expensive things that you can get
that 25% off can really save you some money. ???

I know of no restrictions on parts. Larry (the parts guy I spoke to - to set
this up) gave me the impression that it's across the board. Does not apply
to parts obtained as part of service, though. The Service Dept has a
different billing set up, and it has to do with warranty reimbursements from
DC...or something like that.

Subject: Directions for the Dec. 15 GPS class

Jon asked me to post this for those going to the GPS/OziExplorer class (see
e-mail from Jon below).

I have a map graphic of the grounds that John sent me. Rather than post
that on the reflector, I'll respond privately to anyone that wishes a copy
of it. (more of a hassle but emotions about attachments in the last 48
hours have been running rather high and I don't feel like getting flamed) ;)

Drop me a note if you want the .jpg map file sent to you directly. The file
size is 40KB.

Stu

p.s. Don't forget that we are giving away a copy of OziExplorer, which I
believe is now retailing for $75 US. Members that attend the class will be
in the drawing for the software. Sign up for the class is on the club web
site.

Stu - attached is a diagram of the Fountain Hills Community Center. We are
scheduled for Classroom I. (I may get home for the weekend after all I
won't know until that week. So, don't be surprised if you see me there.)
Will you post the directions and a reminder a couple of times?

Directions:
From Shea Blvd:
1. in Fountain Hills, turn on Saguaro Blvd (can only go 1 direction)
2. Continue to El Lago Blvd (about 2 miles), go left.
3. At La Montana (1/4 mile), go right
4. The entrance to the community center is on La Montana shortly after the
turn from El Lago.
5. There are 2 multi-colored buildings in this complex. One is the Library,
the other is the community center. As you enter the parking lot from La
Montana, the Community Center is the left-most building.

The GPS seminar will be posted in the lobby but we are supposed to be in
Classroom I.

You can find decent antennas at a truck stop also. Flying J or Williams
truck stops. I just bought a cheap Uniden radio and a 3" power speaker and
mounted the speaker over my rear view mirror. Actually I have 2 speakers up
there with one for my 2 meter radio also, and I can finally hear what's
being said at 70 miles an hour with the wind and tires going like crazy!

There are also numerous washes to explore, the furthure up the washes you go the tougher they get. There are a variety of side trails and hill climbs to try as well as a large hill of sand left over from when they were building I-10.

Interesting. I have a D44 closed knuckle w/drum brakes on the front of
my '66 3/4-ton PowerWagon. It would be nice to upgrade it. I'll keep the
link around for a while. Later next year, if I have the money, this
might be worth looking into again.

On my TJ, I have both my antennas mounted above the tail light, one on each
side. Right now I am using "L" brackets, home brew mounts, but I noticed at
the truck stops they have nice 2 bolt and 4 bolt brushed aluminum mirror
brackets for the truckers that I can use. Only need the "L" side with the
antenna mount to replace what I now have. The other side of the mount can be
tossed or maybe used on the inside of the jeep for support of the mount. But
then I guess some people don't like to drill holes in they're jeeps.
PS these mounts are for the 3/8" screw in type skinny fibeerflass antennas.
(that's what Roger calls them).

Doug,

The problem isn't that I am getting the virus... I have Norton's 2001 that I
update every day so it catches these viruses... the problem is at work; my
network administrator is starting to notice all the virus which come to me
via the AZVJC. He gets notified everytime they catch a virus on my email
account and I'm tired of explaining.

The bottom line is that there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to allow attachments
to our group; it causes far too many problems.
