You can get pipe padding that works. I got mine from Macromotive. They come in 6 foot lengths. That is the online outlet for Off Road Unlimited.

I purchased mine from 4Wheeler's supply... they were pretty inexpensive there... about $1 per foot or so if memory serves me properly

I was down a 4 wheelers today. They have a bunch of them in stock. Last time I was at Macromotive, I bought them out.

What thickness are they? I bought my last set (Besttop) from 4 Wheelers and the padding that came with it made a very tight fit. I didn't know you could buy the padding seperately.

These numbers are not exact, but about 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 inch inside diameter with the 3/8 to 1/2 thickness. You could call 4 wheelers.

I went to 4 wheelers yesterday.
They have the roll bar pads in 6' lengths.
about 7 bucks. the sizes are 1 7\8"od
They also told me they dont last long and tear easy without a cover. So I bought the best top replacment kit. Will let you know
how it fits later today.

I've had the pads from 4 Wheelers in my TJ for about 3 years now. Aside from a little dust, they look as good as the day they went in. I guess it all depends on how you treat your stuff? Or the fact that I keep mine in a garage....maybe there is a UV issue too?

This stuff is also available from most racing supply houses, here is one that i have used. Might have to cut and paste.

The best top fits perfectly and looks great.
I would recomend them to any one looking to replace their worn pads.
