We ran these last weekend. Lower WP, WW, Upper WP and H2H on Saturday. The notch on WP is amazing -- very deep. WW was just like normal. Actually drove the notch there too with some good spotting. Look for the blue paint. Haha. I drove the Firehole only to get the front end hung up on top but we worked through it.
The notch on H2H is also very deep. Deeper than I have seen it in a long while. I used to drive it. I took the bypass this time in the interests of time mostly -- we started H2H very late in the day. Did I mention it was deep? H2H seemed to be very decent. Not too stacked and the rains have helped it I think.

dee dee dee
as carlos mencia would say
well the lowdown is, It's still in the parking lot, now with 2 flat tires
I do admit I have told him that I'm not in a HUGE hurry, as there is going to be alot done to it, matter of fact we changed the plan today to go to a 4link set up in the rear w/ Big horn air shocks, bob and dovetail the bed and have an @ssload of tubing outback.

ya there will still be propane tanks, toolbox and a cooler in the back, but thats it
I say tanks, b/c I plan on getting "hopefully" 2 10 gallon tanks, I've recently been finding out that a 30"lb" tank is not the same as a 30"gallon" tank:rolleyes:

Yeah, those pictures show just how deep the notch is now.
By the way, that's not the line. Just in case, you know...haha.
It is way deeper than when I ran it prior to this last time. I have it on video somewhere with a bunch of people in different rigs going through it. I think I I fell in near the end but drove out easily. Now falling in now would be messy like your pictures show.

Have never tried to straddle that notch, myself. Can usually get thru by running the pass side down low...maybe doing a little scraping. But when it's completely de-rocked, or deep as it is now after the rains...bypass is the way to go for me as well. Even a bit of water down there in the crack makes climbing out on your intended line pretty much impossible.
But probably my favorite trail out there!
Have fun Sunday, Todd...no wheeling for me this weekend.

You can actually walk the wall on the passenger side (sometimes) most of the way through even with narrow junk but it is tricky and you need your sidewalls to do most of the sticking, or at least that's what has worked with mine.
Wet? Maybe with red label Krawlers but probably not much else. Lots of the lines were not going to work when wet, like the notch in LW where everyone was falling in.

Yes, they rule the day. A set of those and open diffs and they are fit for sitting in anyone's driveway.

There's a good chance I'll be there for this one. Spicoli and I are going out tonight to camp and run Axle Alley, then run H2H in the AM.

Yes! Good times for sure. Ran UW and H2H. We had a blast. There were actually 8 rigs at one point one had to head back due to steering issues.
As to the flop, well, I now know that particular line doesn't work. Ran that trail severla times and never ahd an issue on that fall but this time just had to be different. That was my first honest to goodness flop. Thanks for the help righting the thing.
I have never seen so many people move so quickly for a few cents of pocket change. Sheesh.
I was able to drive the last obstacle on H2H unassisted this time. Yay. It gave me some grief last time out and this time it wasn't so bad.
Oh yeah. The silly xfer case shift linkage fell out of the tub-side bracket and I was stuck in 4Lo until we managed to manually get it into 2Hi. The TJ has one of the stupidest shifter linkage arrangements I have ever seen.
We got off the trail just in time to get plastered with rain and mud. Serious downpour. I hope everyone else made it home okay too.
I did not get too many pictures since I was at the back of the group but I will see what turned out and post some up later. I got to meet some new to me folks though. Thanks for putting this together Todd.

Okay. As threatened early, a few pics although I really did not get many. There are none from Upper Woodpecker since it is not really a trail that requires or calls for a bunch of stop and go -- you just plow on through taking the optional fun obstacles along the way.
This is Terry in the notch on Hiway to Hell. This gives you an idea as to just how deep the notch has become since the rains this year. I have driven that notch but certainly not the way it is now. I think it could be done, but not today by me.

Terry got wedged in pretty hard and an extraction was required. This is a frontal shot of the nifty looking Desert Fab buggy.

And here he is up top. Nice work.

Barry did a good job on the notch also.

Jason about to get a tug up the fall that I decided to flop on. I have driven this fall several times without any real problem. Oh well. Different day, different whatever.

This is John making a few valiant attempts at this fall. This is the optional, harder line. It can be tricky.
http://k7top.com/v-web/gallery/albums/2006-10-08FJ/100_2297.sized.jpg
Here's John again on the final obstacle on H2H. Although there is a bypass the obstacles are the reason you crawl, right? John getting lined up.

John pointing skywards. No lack of cajones here.

That's about all I had. Thanks again for the good times.
