OK, heres the deal. I have a 2.5" lift that I am looking at installing on my KJ. I have all the tools I should need to do it, but I need some space. I live in an apartment complex in Mesa and they frown on vehicle maintenance in the parking areas so I am asking if anyone has some spare driveway/carport/garage/yard space that they don't mind lending me for a few hours. Help will always be accepted but is NOT mandatory :D I am looking to do this either Saturday or Sunday - most likely Sunday since I may wind up working on Saturday.
Let me know if you can help out; if not I'll just do it here after the office people have left Sunday afternoon (I live right across from the office  ).
Thanks!
Gordon

Kevin,
I have lots and lots of space. A big ol' shade tree, nice cool climate too. I'm up here in Payson. Have an acre you can use to put it on and then a mountain right here to test it out on. Ha ha. Its up to you.
I know, I know, to far. I hope your going to get the alignment checked after you install the lift. Hope it turns out good.
Post up some pics of it when your done.

Thanks for the offers guys. As for driving to Star Valley, I've driven to Tucson to help a buddy install his lift so I don't think its too far. I'll know more tomorrow as to how the weekend is panning out work-wise so I should be able to make a decision by then. OH and yes, I do plan to get the front end aligned once the lift is on. It was on another KJ before the guy got a Frankenlift so it shouldn't take very long for the parts to settle out again.

To all the people who have generously offered me space, I thank you. Looks like I will be doing the work over in Peoria at the home of another KJ owner. Going to be in a nice cool garage (or so he says :p ) on Sunday.
Again, thanks to all who offered. This really is a kick-butt group of folks :D

Nope, didn't get it done. I ran into a problem with the clevis (tuning fork looking thing on the front suspension) hitting the upper CV boot. I wasn't sure if it was going to be an issue but after seeing some pics from another person over on the LOST board (Liberty owners group) I don't think it was as serious as I thought. Just didn't want to tear a boot or worse while doing the lift. I'm thinking about giving it another go Sunday (today for most reading this). A friend nearby has offered his backyard, it just depends on if we can get our schedules to sync for a few hours. Wish me luck

While I was up in Albuquerque I decided to take the time to install my lift. It was nice and cool up there (around 65 on Sunday). Heres a pic:

Sweet!
Was it fairly easy?

It took about 10 hours over two days, with interruptions and my going slow so as to not mess anything up. Now that I have done one and know what to expect I could probably install one in about five hours, less if there was someone helping. The two hardest parts were 1) getting the clevis fittings back into position on the lower control arms and 2) getting the second rear spring in (finally went and got a loaner spring compressor from autozone). Still need to fab up some lower bumpstops for the rear and install the front stops that came with the lift, figure I'll give it a go Saturday. I also have to replace the upper control arm on the left side since I punched a hole in the boot trying to get the upper ball joint apart. NOTE: never use a ball joint fork on a sealed, non-servicable ball joint :p
