Pretty decent stock run here, unless the rains have changed things more than I know.

We've got a couple of Jeeps meeting in town tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 then we're heading out to the air-down/meeting spot, will hopefully be out there and ready to go by 12:15 or so.

Anyone who is interested in getting out for a bit, just post up and you're more than welcome to meet at my place, or at the air down spot. Just let me know if you need directions to either.

We'll probably get started around 12:15-12:30, head out to the cabin, sit around for a bit, have some lunch, and then take off back through Box canyon, air up, and head home.. Time out depends on how much sightseeing we do, how long we lunch at the cabin, and how many Jeeps we have with us. If you have a hot date @ 5:00, theres a good chance you'll miss it.

ran out through box from martinez last sunday, there are a few inches here and there of water through box... makes it kinda cool looking, but nothing to worry about... (unless it rains for some reason)

the canyon loop is pretty tough for a stocker and is extremely washed out !!! If you havn't done it before, I suggest you take it easy :)

It isn't that hadr of a trail. But it's where I got my first bit of body damage while on 31"s

I'll give anything a shot, but I'd prefer not to get any damage before I even get my plates :)

I ran mine thru the loop completely stock and abused the hell out of my skid plates. I'm not running it again until I'm lifted and on 33's.

So does this place consist of only the loop, or are there other trails to mess around on that would be more friendly to a stockish rig?

A stock rig can make it to the Martinez cabins with no trouble. That is where the loop starts. My very first run out there I parked my rig at the cabins and hopped in another Jeep. Ya might think about doing that.....

Getting out to the cabin will be easy, its from that point you decide if you want to continue on to "martinez canyon" (the loop) from what I hear, unless we get a few more capable jeeps, we'll just head out to the cabin, and then back through box canyon, you'll have absolutely no problems at all with that. If you want to hop in with me and cruise through "the loop" when we get to martinez canyon, thats fine, I'm willing to give it a shot (never been on the canyon) been to the cabin before and through box about a million times. We'll see what time it is and how many we have with us when we get there. I'm up for anything. Otherwise we'll just plan on meeting at the regular time, and doing the easy run, will do any tougher stuff in my heep (no need to get any MORE damage before you've put 5k miles on her) I'll bring the video camera just in case, but otherwise pack a lunch and plenty to drink and we'll see you at 11 ish.

Holy Crap Mike!!! That pic in your avatar is nuts? Where were you guys on that one?

We took off from the trail head shortly after 12:00, just 3 of us to begin with. (Beetroot(Matt) , Kevin, and myself) Another very stock Jeep meandered up about a half hour in, so we adopted him.
Saw the sites, we were in no hurry. Got to where it starts to get rough right before the cabin about 4:30-5 ish, Kevin started up the rock garden there and his tire ate up a big rock and wedged it between the inner sidewall of his tire, and his frame. Took quite a bit to get it out ,but with a little tug from Matt, we got it out, glad to say no flat tire out of the deal. I clunked through the obstacle and made it through with no major events, but as it was getting late we all decided that it would be a good idea to start heading back home.
Started through the box just before sunset, there was a pretty good stream clipping through there which made it pretty fun. Found ourselves a little rattler passing through, which I got some good video of, and we were on our way. Said our goodbyes, aired up and everyone was on homebound. We had great weather, a little dusty for my liking, but hey I got my minerals for the day.
I don't have any pics to post up, maybe Mari does, but I think some of the others will post some up after they rest up a little bit, it was a long day out there!

Looking forward to the canyon though, will maybe have to make a trip out of it soon Mike.

Overall great trip, very nice to meet you Kevin, and I hope to see you on the trail again soon .

You like my Avatar? :) You can read about it here http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/showthread.php?p=119173#post119173

Sounds like you guys had a good time. I know what you mean about dusty. I was out there last weekend. I'm still hacking away from all that dust.

Hows the new locker working? We definitely need to do the loop soon. Let's try in a couple of weeks from now.:)

I had a blast... very cool area, thanks Jamie. Watching your rig bomb over stuff is making me want to get my lift sooner rather than later. Nice meeting you Kevin and the other guy.

Hey from Mark (the other guy), just wanted to say thanks again to Kevin, Jaime and Matt; Michelle and I really appreciate you allowing us to join your group. We would have never found our way without you guys and were just about to turn around and call it a day. That being said, all three of you (and the others) were great to run with and very generous with your time. Sorry if we held you up, it sounded like Jaime wanted to take a run at the loop.

Thanks again for allowing a random lost jeep to join your group and for introducing us to AZVJC.

BTW, we have some decent pics of you guys, but I'm not sure where to post. New to this site and don't want to take up a bunch of web space in the wrong location.
