If its doable in a pretty much stock TJ I'm down to do something. I was thinking about checking out raw deal also but I'll go wherever.

Here's the plan:

Meet at Cottonwood Canyon road(the flagpole) and the 79 at 8:00AM Sunday the 24th. We'll roll out at 8:30. I'll be on CB channel 4. Since it looks like a small group I was thinking we might try to hit the Martinez cabin and Coke Ovens. We'll talk it over at the air down spot.

Definite:
Me
John(jcy79ihc)
Ryan

If anyone else wants to go, post up or send me a PM so we'll know to look out for you.

Edit: I am flexible on what we run. We can do the Cabin, OR Coke Ovens, or both. It doesn't matter to me, as long as I'm wheelin.

I might be up for it... my run got canceled...

Are you set on the coke ovens? Or maybe hit martinez canyon instead ?

I can't speak for everyone else, but I would pass on Martinez Canyon. I might have done it before the rains, but not now at stock height.

Andy!! It's time to get that baby lifted !!! It's been a long time since we last saw each other ;)

I know, but I'm saving to go straight to a Long Arm and 33's with alloy wheels. :D :D Probably be another 6 months till I decide what I want to do. Plus, it can't hurt for me to get more experience with it stock.

I've been watching your website. Do you post your runs ahead of time somewhere? I wouldn't mind running with ya again, although you and your jeep seem to be out of my league at this point. :D

I'm not planning on running Martinez Canyon again until I get my rig lifted. I did do it before, but I abused the bottom side of my rig a lot harder than I'm comfortable with. Plus I read (from you I think:D ) that it has changed since monsoon season. Since I'm only running a 2"BB and John is stock I thought we'd just run to the cabins and then out to Coke Ovens.

Eh, we just sort of meet up :) I'll let you know next time we hit a trail.

I'm still runing just the 2"BB but I recenty put in the 1.25" Body Lift and last week got my 33"s Holy hell, it's a new rig !!

I'm gonna hit TM with that other group, you guys have fun and be carefull. Watch out if you try to cross the Gila!!! With all the water coming down from all the trails up north it's probablly flowing pretty good!!

Thanks all that attended. I had a good time:D ,

and

now I'm sure that it takes all day to get to and from the Coke Ovens from the west side...sure makes for a long drive home back to Litchfield Park. :o

Is traffic on Sunday evening on the 101 going north always have those twits with fast small cars weaving in and out of traffic? Seems like we ought to be able to go to missles on those morons...

Looking forward to seeing some of the pictures!

Um, thats not just a Sunday night thing, thats pretty much 24/7...

Glad you enjoyed the Coke Ovens, I ran it with some other KJs back on the 4th of July weekend - it was the first time I had been out there but since I had organized the run they let me lead  Thankfully I had my trusty GPS V with waypoints in it so I knew pretty much where I was going, only made one small mistake on which turn to make and wound up down by the river.

That was a fun run today. We went in thru Cottonwood, ran out to the Coke Ovens, and came out thru Box Canyon. I got to wheel with some new folks and had a great time. The weather was great and everyone did real well, no carnage, and no recovery gear needed. I hope you all had as much fun as I did. I'll post up some pics in the morning.

Not that I didn't believe you, but since I was out off of the Florence Kelvin Highway today I decided to check the river at the crossing in Cochran, the river is not passable !

John, what I would do is get a free account at photobucket.com and upload your photos there. I do that with all of my photos.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any decent pics with my camera. Of those that I took, a lot are pictures of the ground - must have been slow shutter speed.

Just started doing that with my photos as well. Real nice thing is that it automatically generates the [IMG]tags you need to put in the posts so that the pictures show up
