IT'S TWO WHEEL DRIVE!
Rescue Green, Sahara, hard top, limited slip, 18 inch wheels.
Okay, before the flaming comes let me say I actually was impressed by it. I know its not going to be able to catch up off road with the rest of the pack, but for someone that wants an open top 5 passenger vehicle that will turn a lot of heads and be comfortable at a great price, this is it!
We ordered it for a long time customer (fleet) so it is spoken for, however if he chooses not to buy it, it will be available. No word yet when we will know.
I havent seen the 4wd yet, but I need to add that it does not scream 2wd when you look at it. The stance is quite nice.
A few of my thoughts:
1. I love the 18in wheels, they dwarf my 06 Rubicon when parked next to each other.
2. The Hard top is amazing, I think I would choose it over the soft top since its so easy to remove and the two panels up front are a great addition.
3. I really like the Rescue Green especially in the sunlight. It almost looks like there is some gold flake that wants to shine through. Very different reaction to what I thought I would do when I saw it.
4. Great crisp ride at low speeds and a very capable vehicle on the highway. It cruised very nicely on the 101 and not difficult getting up to speed.
5. The fold-down seats are awsome! It's nice to have them down when you need the room, but not have to actually remove them.
6. Yes, it is sluggust going up hill. Not bad, but a noticable difference driving it up hills and what-not.
7. I couldent imagine trying to take the entire carpet out, way too much plastic components getting in the way trying to make everything look "pretty."
8. The windshield looks like it would more of a project to fold down compared to the TJ.
9. The most impressing thing about the 07 is asside from the positive and negative features, it really makes all the previous wranglers look dated.
Would I consider trading in my 06 Unlimited?
...No. If I didnt allready have one I would chose a 2 door 07 Rubicon over an 06 no matter what savings. But I just bought mine 10 months ago and I love it no less after seeing this.
However if a V8 rubicon is produced, im all over it!
Daimler Chrysler made a great move in the new JK as I think it will reach a new buyer. Its still a wrangler and more capable than ever.

Did Chrysler really make a good move for the "wrangler" or for themselves? The same transitions happened with Land Rover... it will only take another redesign or two for IFS once these "new buyers" outnumber the "old buyers" and a slightly smoother more compliant ride becomes more important that offroad prowess... just remember that. It might be great now, but it's only a stepping stone.

I drove a red 4wd at avondale on Wednesday and it rode great but no power. Lots of room and do like them but a 2wd? . What wrong with that pitcher.
Avondale has a black 4wd hard top Sahara for only $34,000. Hey hard 3 07 and now have only black one when i was there today.

Good move for Chrysler? - Absolutly, and that's not a bad thing. It will only help the consumer in the long run. There is no reason to be mad about someone buying the 2wd wrangler over another mid size SUV if the 4x4 isnt what they want. I know I could use the sale.
I dont think the 2wd is going to be much of an issue, look how quiet the availibilty seems, at least it does to me. These things are going to be a great buy for years to come (2 or 4wd), just when the competition makes a move to catch up the the TJ/LJ, Chrysler pulls farther ahead with the 2 and 4 door wranglers, and offers a 2wd.
And lets face it, if someone knows they wont be offroad, but still loves the brand and doesnt want anything else. Why force them to buy a 4x4?
I hope I never have to say IFS along with Wrangler in the same sentence either. Look at the Cherokee when it was available as a 2wd, it drew just as much attention, but Jeep stood by their decision and it proved itself.
I am just curious to see how long Chrysler, Jeep & Dodge will keep adding models until some phase out.
BTW - This 2wd is a Sahara,Hard top (option), rear limited slip (option), 18in wheels with the 255/??? R18 tires. MSRP is just over $26K, I think thats a great price for a vehicle that offers this much.

Maybe this thread should be in the sponsor forum. Sounds more like a sales pitch with a little opinion mixed in.

For crying out loud, the guy is just describing and giving his opinion on the new Jeep, just like tons of other people on here have done. Just because he sells them doesn't mean he can't talk about them IMO.
That being said, if you need them serviced, give me a call!! ;) :D

It doesn't sound like a sales pitch to me at all. I think that it is a very well thought out write up on a new product.

I agree, he has the right to an opinion as we all do. And he certainly pays to be a sponsor, so what gives?

Post up a pic! I mean I've seen the new Wrangler pics online (4wd) but I'd like to see the 2wd, 18 inch wheels and color you're referring to, if you can.

What gives? I just "gave" you my opinion. which you seem all to willing to acknowledge I have a right too. So I am not sure what you are asking for.
I am not a moderator, so I have no power. It just sounded like a sales pitch to me. One, if I were a salesman, would make to existing 4x4 jeep owner.
Thanks.

That is surprising but part of the problem might be the "Market Adjustment" your boss slapped on it. I am still wanting to drive an auto one because I really think a 4door rubi might be in my future. Shure would like to see a better optional engine though.

Wife just changed here order last Tue back to a Sahara. She finally got to see a JK and it was in Silver which she loved. So I told her if you want to change the color, you can get that in a Sahara. She did a camparo on Jeep.com and decided the Sahara was the rig for her in Silver. Saved me almost exactly $3k:) Since she would never wheel it then it makes no diff. She did get the 4.10/D44 and limited slip setup so she is in good shape.:D

The market adj was used to keep the jeep in inventory until we get more. Better to have 1 than 0 to sell from!!!!!!

Point is, Jeeps will sooner or later be neutered by those self-serving bastards at Daimler-Chrysler.
Good for stock-holders and pansies.
Bad for off-road enthusiasts.
