Looks like we got 4 lined up for running Payette on Sat. Wouldn't mind having a couple more rigs if anyone is interested. Don't want it to be a huge parade but up to about 8 rigs would be pretty cool. Drop me an E-mail if your interested. Someone who's been before would be a bonus but not a requirement!:D
So far
1 Commando on 37's
1 Ruby unlimited on 35's
2 FJ cruisers 1on 35's 1 on 37's
1 Cj7 on 37's is a maybe

I'm interested and I've run the trail a couple of times. Are you driving up from Phoenix? What time do you want to be on the trail? Are you planning on camping there or coming back that same day?
I need to check a few things before I can commit.

What are the Requirements (tire size, lockers, winch, lift, ETC...) for this trail? Also, if you dont mind, can you tell me the directions on how to get there. Thanx.

Typically folks either meet somewhere outside fountain hills or the Mc D's in Payson.
This is a trail for everyone. It's very wide and you can choose your lines. If you have 32 or 33's you can be very comfortable on the trail. If you have 37's you can take the optional lines and still be challenged. It's a fun trail.
Everyone (except crazy people like Nick or perhaps buggies) usually will take a winch line on the last waterfall because slipping off the line will ruin your day as you'll find yourself upside down in 3' of water. :D Even if the winch line isn't needed for the line, having it as a safety net would probably be recommended.
On edit, you'll want to check with the organizer of this about what he'd prefer in his group with regards to equipment... :)

Iam planning on going up Fri. night and will probably stay until Sun. midday. Some of the guys are coming up Sat. morning and going home the same day.
We are talking about meeting in Payson @ about 8am so as to get an early start. As far as requirements I guess I would take the advice of people that have been before. I haven't done this trail yet so Iam not in a position to give recomendations. I don't think that this is a first timer trail, but I think that someone with experience could make it with less mods. Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions about going.

I camped up there last weekend with my stepdad. The draw is a really fun trail ! Be warned, it got a little chilly at night. Won't be able to make it this weekend, but have fun !
Here's a poser pic or two to get you ready.

If it makes you feel any better Thom I picked up almost a half dozen beer cans off that trail when I was up there last...and I don't even drink. I know Nick picked up a few as well. It was a busy weekend that weekend. With our group and the group behind us there was probably 30 rigs.

Thanks Mike i really appreciate that as forestry is lookin at that run as being too popular and as more and more find out about it it's harder to take care of it,iam thinking of cleanup runs from time to time as i sure would hate to see them rain on our parade.........Thom:)

Was That Saturday Morning????? (T.C.'s Toy)
Me ?
Edit: No, it was Friday, this last weekend thoughh.
As a side note, we ran three trails this weekend: Pyatt, Log Corral, and Hackberry. Very little trash on all three trails. That (trash) is one of Cliffs pet peeves (as it should be) and I hate taking him to dirty places. Like I said, the Draw was very clean, as was Hackberry. Log Corral seemed to have a bit of trash down by the lake, probably not from us wheelers. Everyone pat yourself on the back

Well a big thanks goes out to the High Country Renegades for their hospitality. All but one of my group cancelled so we were rely glad that they hooked up with us. Great trail with an even greater bunch of guys!! I can't wait to get back up there and run it again. The last waterfall has a huge pucker factor, but other than that you could pretty much make the trail as hard as you wanted. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

I have too admitt it was really different after the rains parts of the trail were stacked with debre, and some of the water levels were clearly over our heads, the first waterfall was about 4' high and after the new flood was at least 6 to 7' high and the second (main waterfall) was (as usual) a real challenge.......Thanks to all who showed up and it's always great to make new friends, there wasn't one solid rock on the whole trail as the flood loosened everything, and iam talkin rocks as big as 4' around,NICK it's callin you buddy...........we picked up alot of beer cans and carten holders please folks help us keep this trail clean please.........Thom (T.C.'S TOY):)
