View Full Version : Simply Offroad future...

I have been debating this summer about the future of Simply Offroad. It's been a very hard decision, but I am not going to continue with it. Dave and I have had a great time the last 2 years, and I will miss helping fellow jeepers save money with our own manufactured products.
Dave has had the drive, motivation and heart into this for his future, and I am glad that he found his place with Todd and "Mikey" at Desert Fab. They have a guy that will go out of his way for every customer, even if it is making a $7.00 profit on a sale...:D
This was a personal decision for me. My current employment made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I had made a list for my goals when I was 19 and starting college, and still have it to this day. One of them was to be at a certain salary by the age of 35, and I have made that goal 3 years early and I really enjoy what I do. I never thought in my wildest dreams 16 years ago that I would be making what I am, but had to dream! I have 2 sons that are now playing sports which means practices 3 times a week and games on Saturday's. I travel about 35% of my time for work too. As you can see, something has to take a back seat for a while. Family first is what I have always been about, so I have to provide for my family the best that I can.
I want to thank each of you that supported us by purchasing our Rock Halo's and bumpers. If you have a problem with them, I will still stand by my work, so please don't hesitate to contact me about it.
Again, thanks.

Hi Mike,
Dude... you were the FIRST forum business sponsor... the guy at the top of the list of sponsors!!! It was a really big deal to me that you stuck your neck out and sponsored the forum... and it has been cool watching you run your own business.
Like you said... family first. Glad to hear that you are doing well Mike. At least you aren't leaving the Jeeping world :)

Glad to hear that things are going well for you. I am just sorry that others will not benefit from your great craftmanship on your bumpers. Maybe now that you have some more free time on you hands, you will be able to wheel your jeep:eek: Just kidding, seriously though, we should go wheeling some time. Good luck to you.

I too comend your decision. I haven't really gotten to know you yet, nor do I own any of your products unfortunatly, but I can tell you are a highly respected member of the club. I wish you the best and look forward to meeting you on the trails. I hope when I am hitting my 30s I will still have my head on straight as you do. You gents really are an inspiration to us young ones by putting the real important things in life first. Appreciate everything you have done for the club.

DesertFab will be carrying the Rock Halo that you've all become used to seeing. We carried them for a long time in the past, but they just weren't a good seller for us (didn't push them enough, I guess). Call Dave or Todd for pricing.
I know we still have a few AMC20 halo's around the shop, and will be getting more stock, than we have now, on the others very soon.

Jamie, if you still have the stock cover for the 8.8 you should get down there and pick up a Rock Halo for it. The stock 8.8 covers are about as weak as you'll ever find on a stock axle.

There's an inside joke to that... but Todd has no issues telling it to everyone, which makes it not such an inside thing... but it's still funny. To type it would make it seem very... uh... well... not right.

Well Mike, I know you and I haven't seen eye to eye on very many things in the last several months (I think it goes back to you being in a bad mood :D), But sounds like you are doing the right thing, if your heart and your back aren't into it then at least you are hanging up your mask instead of letting your customers suffer. Very commendable.
Good luck with work, soccer, and most of all the football. :D Maybe now I'll see ya out on a trail every once in awhile.
(OH, and Mike don't fall over in your chair from reading this. :D I was having a weird moment from all of the consolidation that's been going on lately.)

Guess, as someone said about shirts, I'll have to retire my "Simply OffRoad" hat. It is sure to be worth a ton in the future.
Any other of "Y'all" vendors have hats?
Simon, I've got some of your shirts, need to move up to hats to protect my bald head!!
Good luck Mike, hope the XJ is doing well for you.

Hats, shirts and other sundries are being ordered in the next several days.
Anyone want to pre-order? Call Todd or Dave at the shop 480 288-4213.
I don't even know the pricing yet.
We need to sell somewhere like 150 of them to get the best pricing for the next calendar year, so order up!
