I thought I'd share some of the projects that I've been working on.
This summer has been particularly rough on the YJ! After I had lockers installed I gained a newfound confidence to find trails/rocks to challenge my driving skills. While my “skills” have improved marginally, the sheet metal on the YJ has suffered greatly!

To avoid future damage, I picked up some PSC Corner Crushers & Rocker Knockers from Nick @ POR. The install was pretty straight forward, although it took me over two weeks to finish putting them on due to kids, work, and all that other stuff that gets in the way of wrenching!
After the corners and sliders were put on, I decided to tackle the job of painting my half doors to match the factory paint. I took a quick trip to Space Age auto paint and they were able to set me up with all I needed to prep and paint my doors! After they got the paint code off the YJ, they made three cans of spray paint and I was on my way.
The color doesn’t quite match, but I expected that since the YJ is over 11 years old and has seen its fair share of the AZ sun, but it’s close enough!
Anyway, here’s the finished product! The Crusher Corners do good job of covering the damage and hopefully will prevent more from happening! Also, with a little help from a winch and my Dad, I was able to pull the body panel out enough to be able to close the door!:)

Those PSC corners look nice. I could use a set for my CJ.

Here's my own before and after pics of what I've been working on the past few weeks...

This is what started the project...

And here's the new (rebuilt) rear install I just completed this morning...

Now I have to start pulling the front to put this in...

Mike, the ECTED's are working ok. I haven't had an issue with the 8.8, but the D30 has given me some issue's. I've found that if it doesn't engage right away, I just have to spin the wheels in reverse and it engage's. By the way, thanks again for the video! Sorry it took so long to get it back to you!:o

Matt, all I'm seeing are blue question marks!

Edit Spoke to soon! Looks good Matt!

I'm going to avoid the look of crushed body by going to panels... and having two sets. One set for trails and one for set show that's gonna get wrapped.

No problem about the video. Just don't tell my wife I showed you it. She's told me our honeymoon memories are our own. :p

That's unfortunate about the d30. I was talking to AzCharlie at the trail last weekend and he was having probs as well with his d30 engaging which is why I asked. :(

The D30 ECTED sucks!!!!! I was having a really hard time with it that day at TM. I had to stop driving my jeep the day after. It feels like I have it in 4wheel drive when I'm turning on pavement. I'm getting a ARB installed next week. Scully if your having problem's with your ECTED don't wait, get it fixed or have it replaced.

Yea, sucks to hear that the issues have not been solved. I'm 1/2 tempted to write them myself to see if I get the usual BS responce from a company.

Kinda of sucks really as that was my choice of lockers.

EDIT: Yea I wrote them....

To whom it may concern,

I'm a avid Jeeper that is very interested in your products but I've been talking to people in our Jeep club that have been having issues with your Dana 30 version of the locker. Sometimes it turns into a spool and will not disengage, other times it will not engage at all. There are at least 2 people who are having this problem and I have been told in the past from a reputable dealer that when they were installing them seven out of ten times it would be ok but those three others would be pretty messed up. That same dealer doesn't install them this summer either because of the problems that they have been having with unhappy customers.

I'm assuming you are aware of issues with the Dana 30 ECTED and since I still want to give this product a chance, I'd like to know if these issues have finally been addressed or if you are still working out the bugs. There are not many selectable lockers out on the market today that are made by the same company for both a Dana 30 and a Ford 8.8. I wanted to avoid ARB because of the added cost involved but I need to make a decision in the near future on what I need to do to my Jeep.

Thanks for your time,

Jamie McClay ~ Member of the AZVJC (Arizona Virtual Jeep Club)

EDIT #2: Go figure, their address on the website doesn't work. Looks like none of them do.

What I really need to work on next is a cage! I've been bugging John @ Hunter offroad for a while, so I'm heading in the right direction! I just need to start gathering the parts I need (seats & 5 point harness's) before that can get done. I also need to get the funds together and approval from the wife to use said funds before I can do much!

Do what I did a few weeks ago. Honey come outside and see the new tires and wheels I just bought.
Now this week I am allowed to sleep at home again and I still get to keep the tires.
