Well, as many have noted, there are changes going on at DesertFab Motorsports. Here is a bit from all of us...
Earlier this week, David O'Boyle joined the team to handle retail sales and general wrench monkey. With his addition, it puts us in a position to move greater amounts of product and services which could translate to lower pricing for you all!
Welcome aboard, Dave. Great to have you on the payroll!
Now... quit screwin' around and get to work!! :P
To everyone interested in all of this...
DesertFab is on the move. We're finally getting to the point where the fruition of our labors over the last few years is beginning to be seen. Much of this is thanks to you guys and gals at AZVJC!
Last year at this time, was a totally different story, but we stuck it out and kept to the plan. With that, the company was able to realize increased sales and services that far exceeded any time past. One thing led to another and we moved into the new shop... the one we thought we'd never be able to fill. Well, that was shortsighted. We constantly have projects and quicker-turn vehicles in there that more than fill us to capacity. Thank goodness for the fenced in lot!
With Nick's leaving the business and a cooperative effort there to make sure that his customers are still taken care of how he'd like to see it done, and now Dave's addition to the team both wrenching and helping out with retail sales, the future is very bright for DesertFab.
We're also adding a couple more services to our normal fare, not brand new to us, but one's that you may not know we do. These include quad/utility vehicle/golf cart modifications; Off Road Racing race prep (SCORE, CORR, BITD, Jeepspeed); and a even a bit more street rod fabrication. Don't forget us for your trip-readiness and general maintenance, either.
We'll be expanding our off the shelf offering considerably over the next several months, revamping the website completely, adding online shopping and even begin to carry more inventory (nothing like 4 Wheeler's, we don't have that much room!).
Does all of this mean that you'll get lost in the shuffle? The opposite, actually. With the addition of quality people on staff handling relationships, manufacturers, sales, etc. it frees up more time to be able to do the work needed on customer rigs and projects.
You'll also see more of us in industry magazines and e-zines as we've been working behind the scenes to get together some tech articles, off the wall stuff and shop/employee profiles together for various outlets.
Again, thanks to everyone for your continued support of your local businesses, including DesertFab, and welcome aboard Dave!
now guys, really... get back to work before I break out the "Todd Motivator" :D

Now all you gotta do is relocate out from BFE to a more centralized location where us folks up North and the folks to the West can come and see you more often....
Seriously, this is an exciting development for you guys! Looking forward to the future of DesertFab!

Congratulations Todd, must be going to take some time to get use to having help again. Just wanted to say thanks again for the great work on the nerf bars, I decided to have them powder coated, in semi gloss.
I'll have to make some time to get my Jeep up there, for one of your cages, I know that won't be a day trip for me.
Here's the finished product:

Hey Danno, for me to get to Desert Fab it takes 1.5 hours, 4WS 2 hours, and POR was over 2 hours. Like it really matters or anything. :D

ya really, I went to see him today and bs alittle. Holy crap is it far!!!
but really after I left I felt that I would enjoy dealing with him and his business. I do plan on personally taking all of my business to Todd and the crew, now with Dave O' joining forces, that just sweetens the deal for me:D
p.s. keep Dave from all chop saws and sawzalls, he becomes alittle possesed!!
it's kinda scary :D:D

Great news, Todd and Dave! I look forward to continued funds transfers from my account to yours. If your expansion requires yet another shop move, just say the word and I'll be there again. Maybe you can convince your shop neighbor to move instead and just take over his half :)
btw, it's you guys up north are the ones who are in BFE!

If we have to move shops again, it'll be a bit, as we're locked into a lease for now.
But I can promise you that I will flog Todd daily if he chooses another location so freakin far out (even though both of us are less than 10 mins from the shop... including a stop at the gas station for Mt. Dews!)
Dave, on the other hand, has an actual commute. But he doesn't count yet :P

That would mean that you bring the lunch, we'll bring the hungry stomachs! LOL
I do keep forgetting to load my old grill in my car and take it over to the shop, don't I? (I have to call it a car... Todd gets huffy when I call it a truck. But it's based on a truck chassis and has a selectable transfer case with 2HI, Auto 4WD, 4HI and 4-LOW, that tells me truck!)

It has an enclosed bed that can be washed out with a hose, with not one, but TWO back windows!!! One separating the passenger compartment from the bed area and the other keeping honest people honest.
It's a truck dagnabbit! So what if it sold so well that they sold all they were going to make in two years! :)
I don't care what you all say. My Jeep's lower than yours!

HAHA!!! Wait no it's not... I've got a buggy chassis laying in the dirt int he back yard and 2 on Jackstands in the garage... :D
Then agian, your tub is starting to sink into the dirt out there...

Sinking in... zactly.
Now... get to it n00b. :D My frame is next to the yellow creation (nicest I could come up with) in the back. You'll know it from the scarcity of anything on it but dust!
Yeah it's in the way of the new lift and my work space... :p

Now that we've established that you know where it is... get away from it and let the master do his work. :P
It sucks... we're both busting tail for the shop... in different ways... and we'll never even see one another there on a normal week.
You need a second shift job.
Ha are you nucking FutZ ??? I will never work 2nd shift... GAG!!!!!
besides, I get 15% for 3rd's... :D and I'm home to take the kids to school and pick them up..

If I went to a central Location $$ would double. I could not afford a shop this size in a central location:rolleyes:
I think you all should move closer to me.:p Houses going up everywhere

Are you 3 all typing from the same (one and only) computer in the shop?!?! ;-)
Shouldn't someone be working?
Wait, maybe I should be nicer. I know my Jeep needs to go back to your place after a couple more runs. You'll be giving me the special "smart a55 pricing" now, won't you? ;-)
Seriously, good luck with the continued growth. Sounds like a good thing for Desert Fab and Dave. Look forward to more business with you all in the future.

ps. Todd - with the extra help, no more excuses...time to wheel again!

I'm posting from my home... as I have a day job that expects me to be available from 8-5 M-F. But I have no office to commute to (unless I commute to Herndon, VA).
Dave and Todd are the ones screwing off on DF time. :D

Hey, I thought to get to the new shop you took a right when you hit the border? :D
Nena, It's just a quick trip down the highway for you. Quick map put it at around 152 miles one way. You can do that in an hour and a half. :D

Nena was asking where AJ is, not the shop. :D
You are correct, though. although you're not completely into AJ when you make the right, then another right, then a left, then another left then through the gate and to the right.
