Yesterday afternoon, I went for a putt with an old riding Bro and my other half. We went to check out a venue near Pinnacle Peak that we were thinking of using for an upcoming event. The venue is near Greasewood flats and we were taking a scenic trip up to the area.
Cave Creek-Dynamite-Alma School-Jomax, etc.....
There weather was excellent and views good, as usual. What wasn't good was the road conditions. Having committed to Dynamite was a poor choice. We crossed several area of sand covering the road and my buddy almost dumped his scooter while crossing one of them. I faired very well, but it was a little nastier than I wanted it to be.
I figured the roads may have had a little washed over sand, but Dynamite was just ridiculously unsafe for those on road bikes. I avoided heading out to Saguaro Lake just because I was afraid the roads would be dangerous. I didn't make a much better decision by heading North. I'm just glad no one dumped their scooter and that all parties made it back home smiling and safe.
Be careful out there when riding after Monsoon season.
