I met up with two other TJ's yesterday to run some trails at Table Mesa. We decided to run Lower and Upper Raw Deal and the Terminators. I had never ran Upper Terminator before so i was looking forward to that. I even managed to not get us lost. :D The water and mud made for a interesting day on the rocks but we made it through all of it and had a blast. After that we finished of the day getting fat at denny's. Thanks Brandon and Mike. I had fun and am ready to go again. Thanks for the pics Mike. Here's a few.

Cool pics...

I was hoping to run into you guys. We ran Judgement day and Raw Deal. It seems you met up with the last of our group (stu) at the airdown spot? Must have missed you by 5 minutes.

Hey is that a shiny new steering box skid brandon ?

Oh, and I crawled up the waterfall in my 31's just fine.... in case you were curious ;)

Nope is there a link... that looks like it sucked.

And PS... small tires rule. I love it when the little guys do big stuff.

That's nothing a D44 with a full-floater conversion wouldn't fix ;)

Not likely. Probably up the left side bypass...but you never know. Wonders never cease so they say.

Yea, I think I was there for both. :D

But if he did the middle he would be the ultimate winner and I'd think the trail rating would have to be looked at again.

Doing the left side is no small feat for someone on 31's though, good job. :D

I dunno aboput that. 31" tires and two lockers with some decent driving (and taking the bypasses where necessary) seems to be just about right for JD. 33" would be ideal. No lockers on any size tire and JD will be some work but still doable, of course.

Rating 3.5 Hard Trail
Description Some rocky sections (yeap), bypasses at most major obstacles (yeap). Some body damage possible (yeap). Rocker panel and rear quarter panel protection helpful (yeap).
Vehicle and Equipment Upgraded bumpers (Useable as a hi-lift point), rocker panel skids, skid plates, Hi-Lift, 32" Tires, Rear locker
Example Judgement Day, Upper Terminator, Lower Terminator, Predator, Rocker Panel Pass, Martinez Canyon (not Cabin), FR42 (after heavy rainfall or when it is wet)

i think i locked the front in twice. I would have liked to have 33's for sure, but it was ok.

I went left at the waterfall, and I didn't take the final obsticle at the end where you can go left through the rocks or to the right around them. I think it would have been fine, but so close to the end I wanted to finish on a good note ;)

I think this is the first trail I've been on that I was completely comfortable with the rating. It is a good solid 3.5 from what I've seen. :)Tons of fun !

Yeap, zactly, 31s and a locker at each end for security should be fine on that trail. I ran those 33 and open (and solo) for a while until I got bored and started adding junk. Like you I took the bypasses on the two big obstacles until I had full lockers.

So is the left hand side of the big v-notch still paved? Last time I was out there you could have literally driven up it in a pickup. Someone had invested a helluva a lot of effort paving the left hand side instead of taking the perfectly servicable bypass to the right. The left used to be somewhat technical but is not much of a challenge any more.

just a thought after reading what you wrote barry but why dont we ever have unstacking parties? Is it just something that is left as is till nature finds the time to move it around a bit or do you guys unstack here and there as you run the trails?

Good thought. The fact is there are de-rocking and cleanup parties. Anaconda a few years back, H2H, and many others. We took a bunch of rocks out of The Terminator obstacle one night after a couple of rigs filled it in.

Maybe we should have one to restore JD back to its former glory. There are really only two obstacles on the whole trail the rest is mostly ho-hum and those two obstacles are pretty tame these days. That first waterfall up the middle should be way nasty like the first time I saw it. Now it is just an annoying mess especially with all the rocks that have been purposefully knocked off the side. Remember how it used to be a serious squeeze even up the left? Often a 3 point turn was required of you went that way. Now it is no big deal, no need to be that careful about the line and not really the challenge it once was or could be.
