Anyone up for this? It's my favoritest trail in the whole wide world and I haven't run it in a while. Got a friend that can't commit to an all day/weekend engagement that wants to come along and ride bioootch so i don't think I'll make the Payette Draw campout/run.

Log Corral runs from the Beeline/87 hway West towards Bartlett Lake, crosses the Verde River and then ends at the Bartlett Lake Dam Rd which can take you out either to North Scottsdale or to I-17 if you are in the West Valley. Meeting spot would be the Shell/Circle K on the South Side of Shea just West of the Beeline in Fountain Hills.

This trail is rated a 3.0 with a nice little rock garden passable by most jeeps with a capable driver. If the Bartlett Lake Rd is Closed then it will be closed at the Carefree Highway to incoming traffic, there is another route out through some washes that will make getting home just fine.

I'm interested in going on this. Been wanting to do this trip for a long time. What time did you want to meet? I'm heading out to the Saguaro coves cleanup right now to help drag that Explorer carcass out. Hopefully it won't take too long. I'll check the board when I get back. If the road to Barlett is closed, I know the way out via Needle Rock and Rio Verde.

If you have a basically stock jeep, then you dont want to do this trail. I have sat in the rock garden for hours waiting on a stocker to try to get through there. Not fun, and if you want to remain friends with some people, don't push your stocker onto these kinda trails. :(

meeting spot will be Shell Gas Station on South Side of Shea, West of Beeline HWay. 7:30, leaving at 8.
BTW, I've led stock rubicons through this trail without much of a hassle.
call me on my cell as I won't have much internet access today. 480-209-8870

How was the run? Were you guys able to cross the Verde with all the rain?

This trail is absolutely OFF THE CHAIN! (that means something like totally awesome for all you non-hip types) The rain has absolutely changed nearly every aspect of the trail from any writeup I have seen, including my own. The rock garden has gotten harder, the switchbacks are all washed away and this trail has deffinately turned into a tricky one to get through. You guys missed out on a hell of a run last night, it was too eventfull to describe in full but later I'm sure JCSXJ will give a brief synopsis and when I get pictures I will upload them with the story.
Anyone who thought about going that didn't go, you should be regretfull that you didn't. Anyone who didn't even think about going, well you are just lame!

Awesome trail. I would have been pissed if I didn't go. There was LOTS of skinny pedal action and a couple oh $hit moments. I know have a high clearance front end (front bumper was ripped off!). This was definetly one of the funniest trail runs I've ever been on. I finally got home about 5:30. It was great wheelin with you VIVI, can't wait to do it again.

A front bumper, VIVI is getting better. When he took our stock Rubi, we just shrunk the oil pan a little in the river. :)
Glad to hear you guys had a good time. I need a few inches before I try it again.

I do regret not going, and I am actually kinda surprised you didn't cancel it with that storm that moved in. I was beat from extracting the burned-out vehicle from the coves. I never expected it would take the amt of time and effort we spent to do that. So once again, I missed out on fun in order to be responsible and helpful and clean up after some idiot. I'm glad you guys had fun and I want to see some pics, too.

The most exciting part of the trail.

These pictures can't explain the doubts of whether we could get the jeep out of this hole or not. I thought as soon as I fell in the hole that we would be posting up on the board within hours for a jeep rescue. I just didn't see it at all, suddenly we were verticle and the rear of the vehicle was dangerously close to going right over the front.
Most of the trail isn't THAT damaged, but this trail has had a serious makeover and it would challenge anyone to run it without lockers. The rock garden that I had come to know and love is COMPLETELY different than what it was previously. Huge rocks that were previously landmarks have been moved yards down the trail and overturned. This trail is deffinately a treat now.
