Me and a few friends are going to leave Phoenix around 8:00am on Saturday and return when ever on Sunday or Monday.

We plan to do the following;

Petroglyphs in Partridge Creek
The Cathedral Caverns
Visit the 1940's flagstone quarries
1922-1932 Abandon RR Tunnel
The 1859 Beale Wagon Trail
1920's Partridge Creek Bridge and the Ten Tank Sink Hole

It should be fun, I have the Bro-in-Law looking over the house for the weekend and Shauna and I plan to enjoy the weekend by meeting some other friends up there around the same time. We may camp on our acrage, at least we will take the tent and what not.

If you want to join us, Call my mobile #623-694-7381. My phone works most places in Ashfork but I dont have voice mail, so if I dont get you the first time , try agian.

That sounds like a really great trip--unfortunately, holiday weekends mean extra work for me. Have fun and please post pics!

We plan to do the following;

The Cathedral Caverns

I don't think you will be able to get into Cathedral Caverns. The cave and the land around it was recently bought by a group of cavers. It is posted "No Trespassing" in many places and is gated and locked. I have heard that the neighbor to the cave is pretty serious about enforcement. If you know the land owners, then I'm sure you know this and have their permission for access. Just a general warning.

If you are looking for a more "touristy" cave to visit, check out Grand Canyon Caverns near Seligman. I think they charge $13 for a tour, but it s great cave.

The rest of your trip sounds like a blast and if I wasn't already caving in Payson, I'd join you guys. Have a safe trip.:)

P.S. If you are interested about caving, check out the local grotto (caving group) at:
