Why Has My Thread Been Deleted?
If There Was A Problem With Its Content, Then Why Was It Allowed To Remain Here For Over 100 Posts?

I read through the thread and thought it to be interesting... deleting such takes away credibility from this sight or whomever deleted it imho.

It was deleted by Joe West, I simply asked him to close the thread, and I also told him I was not upset that the thread existed, I only wanted to keep the thread content about my shop not about other members arguing over non-related issues. He replied back that he not only closed the thread but deleted it as well, he felt that it was not needed. again I only asked that it be closed and kept to the content of which you wrote

You know Nick I've had nothing but great experiences with you and have stood by quietly when that thread was exploding as I grow tired of all the negativity on this forum. I almost jumped in and "defended" you but decided I didn't want to get mixed up in all that. Renob has a right to post his experiences assuming they're accurate. I personally have no reason to think of him as a liar so I dismissed the thread as just a lack of communication during a very difficult time by you. I believe you when you say you didn't tell Joe to delete the thread. I agree 110% with the comment about deleting a thread "takes away the credibility" of this site. It's unfortunate. My bronze membership expired last week and haven't renewed it yet as I'm deciding wether or not to purchase a business sponsorship. Joe can run this forum however he chooses, but we too can choose to support this forum. I've seen threads disappear in the past and I've always been disappointed as I believe the only time a thread should be deleted is in instances such as spam, pornography, illegal activity, etc. Once again, this is all at Joe's discretion. I'm very curious to see how/if Joe responds to this thread. My membership may count on it.

here's what I wrote to Joe:
http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/showthread.php?t=15911
I want to ask for this post to be closed, reasoning is the first post was an informative bad experience, even though it was about me, I feel he has the right to post it, however everything after that has just gotten out of control, there has been fights started up between fellow members non-related to this post, and it's becoming a "use of words" match between 2 moderators. I don't feel the need for this to be continued on and on and on. I don't see an end to it unless its closed by you, if it's closed by anyone else it will start even more problems. I'm not upset that something bashing me was started but there has to be something done to hopefully bring it back to a jeep site instead of a social bashing board. I'd appreciate anything you can do and please keep me informed as to what you feel is best not only for myself but for the forum as well,
thanks
Nick

Here is a suggestion...Please consider it.
Renob: Delete this thread. Then, read the guidlines for this forum and post your "review" of POR.
I also HIGHLY recommend that everyone thinking of posting READ THE GUIDLINES.
Thank you.

John, would this include Don?
3. What can be reviewed, exactly? This is a good question, Keep in mind this is a JEEP club. That is, the off-road parts and services should be related to Jeeps in some way. This excludes reviews on dirtbikes, F350's, your new hiking boots, sunglasses, etc...

Renob, was my pm to Joe fair though?
I understand that you and some others may have problems with Don, but in relation to you and I, I kept that pm in favor of yourself even stating I felt you had/have a right to post that

Nick, as I do not agree with your request to close the thread, I do believe your PM to Joe was fair. We all have the right of free speech.
My response to John has nothing to do with Don personally, I was pointing out the fact that if moderators are not going to follow the guidelines, then how does he expect anyone else to. When in Rome.........

Renob, I deleted the thread just for you.:DNo, you deleted it for John, as he seems to be the one who is interested in following the guidelines.
I would not ask you to delete anything you considered important enough to post in the first place.

Nick, as I do not agree with your request to close the thread
the only reason why I requested the thread to be closed b/c it was straying off course, I wouldn't have a problem with it being a bad/good experience thread about myself or my shop but it was becoming the exact opposite.
again I was trying to be fair b/c I feel you do have a right (really who cares if it's a year later, it doesn't bother me anymore) to express your concern or bad experience with me. I'm hoping we can atleast agree on that:)

Can't any of you see this is highly counter productive?
As stated in another thread, I feel it was not a wise to move the POR and MAx trheads into this area...they do not conform to guidlines and set a bad example.
Frankly, the airsoft BB thread does not conform either.
However, I am not a moderator and have no ability to regulate postings. I only posted a suggested guideline.

Maybe the airsoft BB thing is more of a You Can Do It thread. I found it interesting, but I certainly see where it is not a true product or service review.

I was thinking the same thing Barry, thanks for expressing it! Yes, I just posted a review...at least what believe a review should constitute.
Everyone should take a moment and look over the format and attitude.

I think you forgot that this thread was originally under GENERAL DISCUSSION and then MOVED here by a MOD was it not? HOw is that Renobs problem.
I am friends with Nick and I disagree with the thread having been deleted. WHat good is censorship? Closed?? Yeah it was about time but NOT DELETED.

Jeez, guys.
It's the Internet!!
You are all taking this WAAAYY too Serious.
Lighten up.
I know, It's easy to get caught up in it. I do too!!
Jeepin' is Fun!
Talking about Jeepin' and wrenchin' and even sharing off topic experiences with like minded individuals is FUN!
Doing what we are doing here, and in at least 3 previously deleted posts, sends the WRONG Message.
Renob (Boner spelled backwards?)
Ya might wanna let this all go. Or a year from now, we'll hear about how your post was wrongly deleted.

I did not forget. Within the quote you chose, I am refering to this current thread.
In another thread, I have expressed that moving both the original POR and MAx thread did not set the example.
Should the trhead have been deleted? That is not up to me, but I do not think it should have been moved to teh Review section in its current form..

Well as this is supposed to now be a POR Review thread let me add my latest experience with Nick.
This past week Nick and I hammered out a deal on a fairly expensive item, both sides agreed and seemed happy with the arangement. I walked out of the shop smiling like an idiot (Shnipe was there and can vouch)
Later in the day I got an email from Nick with a better price... 25% better. Can't say I've ever had that happen before. It certainly wasn't something he had to do but he did.
Just my experience.

Another por review.
Nick and crew threw in an ected II locker and gearing for a great price a while back. The ected, I now hear and can vouch for, is not consistant in locking. Nick has been the one after me, to get my procrastinating butt and rig in, and have it fixed.(the locker, before this gets out of hand:rolleyes: )
Stuff happens. All the shops on this board have treated me well. Lets just Wheel!!!:D
