I really like the look of the PSC rear stinger, but would never buy it because my rig is a DD and I couldnt deal with having to LOWER the carrier every time I want to get in the back. How hard would it be to somehow fab up something to have the carrier hinge right to left rather than up and down. I am goin crusher corners here in the next month, so I was wondering if I could brace it against the corners and somehow hinge it off of that? Anyone ever thought of this, or is there someone with more experience with this design that could chime in?
Thanks a lot
Josh

There's no stronger spot to mount the spare than off the bumper. Other companies have tried that with less than stellar results. You'd be hard pressed to find a better quality tire carrier/bumper combo than 4 Wheelers. Just compare welds, attentions to detail and functionality. The PSC rear stinger just doesn't make sense to me and I like many of their products.

why not buy it have it fabbed/tacked up how its supposed to go and have nick, todd or simon do it up how you want off the existing pieces. It wouldnt make much of a difference since the bottom mount ties in to the crossmember and the top mount would be on the body. OR Id say take the design to a fab shop and have em make you something up special and itll prolly be around the price of the kit and labor anyway.

Go see John at Hunter Offroad. He could easily make the carrier with the look you want and the functionality you desire. Just get it in to him very soon. He won't have time after next week. :D

I remember when I saw the first PSC stinger. It was a prototype and shortly after they released it. One good looking tire carrier, in fact I think it may be the best looking of any rear set up. However, its looks are in spades but its practicality is more in jokers.
On of the guys I wheeled with had one and that is a quote from him. He later sold it to a guy with a mall cruiser. You just can't get to the bed of the Jeep very well at all.
Sure looks good :D
