As some of you may know I happen to work in radio, well on our show Friday we had the Godfather of Motocross on our show, Mike Metzger, and we did a “Thrillionare” (http://www.theedge1039.com/MORNING/thrillionaire.php) challenge. That’s where I challenge extreme athletes to a weird funny challenge and usually get my blank kicked. Well Friday I challenged Metzger, who is know for jumping his motorcycle over things, to a jump over a bike contest. Outcome was in his favor, so I talked a little smack on air after and now he has challenged me to something. This leads me to my point……

Please wish me luck! Later today I will be out at the new Cardinal’s stadium for the “Sanderson Ford AMP Tour.” (http://www.monstertrucklive.com/) During the third intermission Mike Metzger and I will Race “TOM CAR’s” (http://tomcar.com/tomcar.html) around the track and (hopefully) hit the 30 foot high jump in the center of the arena. I say hopefully because the some of the big wigs thinks it’s a bad idea. Mike and I both want to do it.

Anyway, if you are attending the event please cheer for me, not that cheating Metzger!!! Wish me luck.

Well Drew never actually got to run because of a stupid mistake made by one of the drivers of one of the tomcars. One of the drivers didn't strap himself in well enough and they went over the big landing ramp for the MX guys, they endoed pretty good and he broke his sternam(spelling)(not Drew another driver). :( Those little tomcars are pretty strong though.

The whole show was full of lessons to be learned by the stadium. It started late and just rolled into everything else. Entertaining, but made for the late night. Kids all slept well.:D

The show sucked. They started late and had no clue as to what they were doing. The drivers sucked at driving and the rigs were not up to par. The best part was the 8'x10' hole in the wall... That was fun to watch. We left @ 10:30 when they were trying to give away a truck for 20 min. All they did was talk and you couldn't hear anything... Is the sound that bad for the games?

Well Jason that "stupid mistake made by one of the drivers" was me!!!! Here's the deals. As some of you have read this whole event was all over the place! From the hour late start to nothing going right with the drivers or entertainment. Metzger was the smart one, he packed up and left that morning. Someone pissed him off or he just knew something we didn't. Anyway, I waited for 2 and a half hours to get in the pits to get ready and when the time came it was a 10 minute window. Knowing we only had a few minutes before the motocross guys came back out I put my foot to the floor and decided to go BIG right out of the box! I hit the Motocross ramp at about 40 I'd say and the landing was anything but smooth. I ended up clearing the landing ramp all together! I got the wind knocked out of me and guy riding me, who jumped in at the last second, (think he was a motocross guy) well I looked over at him and he was done. I hit the gas and drove to the back. He got out and I lined up again for another run trying to gain my breath the whole time. Between the PA guys and people on the track I couldn't figure out what i was supposes to do. Like I said the event was all over the place and I hope for the 30 seconds I was out there I entertained the crowd. All is well over here, I bruised my tail bone, sternum and neck but should heal up nice. Here is a link to a couple of photos, more are coming and video as well.
