alrighty then, need to know what or if there is a rubber grommet or some sort of soft rubber boot that fits on the interior x fer case lever to the linkage at transfer, making the connection( i have deteriated rubber or ??? falling out of it and its so loose it well just isn't right), (91 yj, 231, with ax15) interior shift lever is practically falling off, if so where may this piece be purchased (dealer??) also need tranny mounts what type, factory or aftermarket??.
installing finally the new tranny and xfer case, clutch then new cv drives
I drive it like the next resting place is the junk yard.

Very difficult to ascertain where you mean...but, at the pivot point on the transfer case lever, there is a grommet and as I remember its not rubber but rather a firm plastic. It allows the transfer case lever to move back and forth without metal to metal contact. They do wear out. I have some extras, but for the life of me have no idea where I put them and most likely if I ever need one I will have to go buy it again.

I picked up some at the Jeep house and I was lucky because the parts guy was a Jeeper and knew what I needed.

Does this sound like what you are talking about?

No, I don't believe so, the piece in discussion is actually in the female side of interior xfer case lever, it snaps down on the actual linkage at the xfer case. I can't seem to get into my parts program today, club handed i guess, will make an attempt later today to do more research. thanks for reply.
