Last weekend, they had closed the entrance to Butcher Jones (at Bush hwy) and also the entrace to the Rolls in the parking lot. I was thinking about heading down there tonight but hate taking the long way in through the washes.
Does anyone know where I can find more info? Nothing on the USDA FS website was listed.
Thanks!

Rich, try this number:
Phone: (480) 610-3300
This is the Mesa Ranger District and they may have some info for you.:)

That worked.
FWIW: ONLY the parking lot is closed. The Rolls OHV area is open.

Yep, we were out there last weekend and saw the gate closed. The parking lot just past that was still open at that point and the area was full.

Wasn't there a cleanup going on sometime soon? I was supposed to be in AK, but have postponed for a week.

They are open you just have to go in from the boat staging area. The short cut back to the pavement is closed to so you have to go all the way in from the back.Dont get lost.

A little bit longer (expecially if you don't take the Beeline), but the coves are also accessable via the 4peaks turnoff: at upper corral take right, stay on right side and will lead you to "the big hill" (hill you can see to the North when comming out of BJones wash). Or B: upper corral take right, then follow trail to left a little then turn south (right) again... will take you to back cove (accross from boat docks). Or C 4peaks road (right fork) all the way down to cottonwood camp. Follow wash to right about .5mi then take first left. This is easy way back to last cove.
Yes, I know that the combinations/permeatations yield about 1.389 million ( + or - appros 52 ) other routes. These are the easiest to describe using caveman gps coordinates.:D
