Thats Right! Somthing you guys thought would NEVER HAPPEN is well under way! http://photos.imageevent.com/frag_o_matic/main/newjeep/icons/04%20tj_lift%20004.jpg

I will no longer be driving a little stocker on those big bad trails! I decided after years of wheeling with a stock jeep it's time to go big!

Having no buget was a small setback, but I have overcome it by buying a few parts at a time! I got to hunting down quality slightly used parts from guys that had recently gone bigger!
(desertdawg/azcharlie)http://www.jeep-trails.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/xyxwave.gif

Parts I have bought:

2 front 4" Procomp coil springs

2 rear 4" Procomp coil springs

4 Teraflex adjustable lower control arms

2 JKS adjustable rear upper control arms

4 Rancho RS-9000 shocks

1 Rancho steering dampener

1 Teraflex extended pitman arm

1 set of Teraflex extended rear sway bar links

1 rear extended track bar mount

1 set rear bump stops

1 set "SPARE" d35 axles

Spent so far.... $450

Parts I still need:

1 set control arm bushings (how much$$)

1 set front bump stops (think I've located these)

1 trackbar (optional?) I think I could just drill a relocation hole!

1 SYE (might get away with adding this later if I get a T-Case drop kit??)

1 CV driveshaft (same as SYE above!!)

So heres the parts all layed out ready to go on the jeep!

I even picked up a set of d35 shafts for spares!

So besides lots of beer... what else do I need??

Someone thats done a lift before to give pointers?

A cute babe to take pictures of us busting our knuckles open and pass out previously mentioned beer?

Some jackstands and floor jacks?

Air tools?

So am I ready??

Should be funn! Beer is a must, as you know. Enjoy it.

You gonna run your 31"'rs for awhile?
Jack stands and air tools may help. And a cute girl is a must, preferebly single.

Oh and one more thing; being a 19 year old college student at ASU, I have NOOO idea of what this aforementioned beer substance might be. So if you need help with your rig, and would introduce me to this unknown liquid, I could help ya:D

Just kidding...

Hey, I noticed that you didn't have any tires in your pictures. I am selling some right now cheap. Go to the for sale section on tires and wheels. These might be right up your ally.

1 set control arm bushings (how much$$)

The Teraflex CA bushings are JUNK!! Get ahold of 4-Wheelers Supply and get the Daystar kit and replace all of these bushings. I think that it was like $15 per kit and you need two kits....so figure about $30. I did this on my TF control arms and don't have any problems. Also with the TF arms, grease, grease, and grease again......did I mention grease??? As long as you keep these arms happy with grease, they won't fail you. Mine have performed great, but I am getting rid of my entire lift for a Rock Krawler 4" LA kit.

Can't wait to see my old parts on your Jeep. I'll get those bumpstops for you this weekend.:)

All the daystar bushings I replaced on those control arms approximately a year ago were already shot for some reason, and I frequently lubricated them. Although, even the shot daystar ones were better than the stock ones. They never clunked like the stock ones did with only 4000 miles on them.

i didn't see it so make sure you give everything a healthy dose of PB Blaster a week before you start. (if your real lucky it will start falling apart before the tear down) ;). It will help with the lack of air tools and the busted knuckles.

I'm in your neck of the woods, so let me know when you start wrenching. I'm pretty good at drinking beer. :D

When I finally life my junk it will be nice to see how its done.

PB Blaster is crucial. Also you won't be needing that pitman arm with only a 4" lift.

Don't drill the relocation hole for the trackbar. It works for a bit but it won't last long at least if you beat on your jeep like I do.
