I17 coming home from Crown King

This JUST Happend as we drove home from CK Sunday am at around noonish.

Hope everyone was ok. Seemed as such while driving by.
(And yes, I was one of those people to take pics while driving. The going was slow).

This was only 10cars ahead of me. I tried calling 911 but was on hold for over 2mins! I assume they were busy with many other calls about the same situation!. But Dang! I'm glad it took Hazzy an exta second or two to get in the jeep, or I would have been in that accident.

We got down the hill in no time at all, sorry you got stuck behind that mess!

Didn't get stuck at all. It had just happened in front of our eyes! Got through before the traffic even began to slow up.
(I was a true Rubbernecker, camera and all)

We left Crown King at 1100 and got stuck on I17 at Table Mesa Road.:mad: So off on Table Mesa we went and down Power Line trail:D :D

It was a great way to end a Crown King run:D

Yeah we got stuck too. Pulled off on Table Mesa but then realized I had less than a 1/4 tank of gas, so foolishly we decided to head back to Black Canyon City, get some gas, have lunch and hope it clears out. We pulled out of Black Canyon City at 2 PM and passed the wreck at 3:45.

I'm hot and tired..........

Your lucky you left just before us , we left town just after 11am and it took 2 hours to got 10 miles . If we could have gotten our breakfest in a reasonable time we would have missed it completely , I will have to remember not to eat at the cafe again unless I plan on taking a nap waiting for service.

thats for sure, thankfully we left when we did(rachel and I) right after it happened and we past it I was thinking how much thats going to suck for everyone else behind us, oh well next we'll eat at the Mill.

I've seen this type of mess before, usually a 1/2 ton pu with WAY too much trailer on the hitch!

this was on the news this morning, someone else had taken a picture with their cell phone, and in the photo there was a jeep stuck in the traffic...wonder if it was you!

The wreck looked bad and hope everyone was OK, although i have never had sooo much fun in a traffic jam before. what a group we had.

We got stuck in that mess. Coming back from scouting on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, we saw the notice on a sign in the Verde Valley. We got stuck doing about 5-10mph from just North of the Hwy 69 exit, until the 101. It took the better part of 2 hours to make the trip down from that point and the accident was cleared by the tim ewe made it past. Made for a long trip, considering the morning started at 4:30AM.....

I'm not sure what time you got there so I'll assume it was in the middle of them getting slammed with other AZVJC members. Granted Cindy's isn't the fastest restaurant, but you have to keep this in perspective. In addition, I'd imagine a restaurant in a town with double digit residents probably doesn't have a manager with a degree in restaurant management. :)

Wow! I hope everyone was ok. Just another lesson that we seem to see way too often anymore.......please, slow down, take it easy, and everyone will get there safe. Obviously they had enough truck for the trailer (nice truck choice, but the way), but that still doesn't make up for carelessness on the road. Whether it was his or someone elses fault, this kind of stuff doesn't need to happen. I see guys all the time towing up and down 17 with their jeeps either on trailers or flat-towing, and I must commend you because I don't think I've ever seen one of you being careless. Keep up the good work!

I think we must've passed that area about 5 or so and it was all cleared up by then.

We did see the TBT TJ on the road down still. I bet that was a scary ride stomping on the brakes with no steering at all.

We had that same kind of accident this weekend on 89A between Prescott and Prescott Valley.Only thing left was a demolished trailer in the center of the road when I went by this morning. Don
