I have a SPAL fan..... far superior to the other types I have seen.

SPAL manufacturers their own motors which are highly balanced and
will last much longer than the others (who by the way, all use the
same motors from some company in Texas).

Have a look:
http://www.users.qwest.net/~jeeperaz/spal_fan.jpg

Notice the flaps at the top and bottom, these open up at hwy speeds
and allow air to flow much more freely.

Ok, my apologies to your duffers out there for not inviting anyone to
play in the charity golf tournament.

Please accept this as your official invite to the tournament. If
there is enough interest maybe we can make a foursome or two

There is the info:

It sounds like John Butler and Mike Baney are interested, as would I
be. So please respond if you are interested to my work

Hey Gang,

Am lookin for any recommendations for a shop in the East Valley that can
repair and replace a few exhaust system components on my Wrangler...and, uh,
do just a bit of light welding to uh, re-attach on of the mounting tabs
(don't ask, just a stupid driving move). I'm only looking to replace a
stock component - the pipe from the bottom of the exhaust manifold back to
the front of the cat - so don't need anything fancy. Anyone know of a shop
to get this done on the cheap???

I'll probably head out early Friday morning rather than Wheeling the

Maybe who ever is going out there first should get ahold of the AzVJC

Subject: TJ Engine Startup Issue

Ok, got a possible small problem, want to see if anyone else has
encountered it.

'00 TJ, 4cyl, no motor mods:
Start the jeep and at the instant that everything is running fine I
get a 1/4-1/2 second sound that is identical to the sound your
starter makes when you attempt to turn over an engine when it's
already running.

It only last about 1/2 second, and does not do it everytime, which is
making it difficult to diagnose. It's almost like my starter is
trying to keep starting the engine, even though it's already
running.

Motors aren't my speciality, so forgive me if the lingo is wrong.

Any ideas at all?

TIA
Dan

You are probably right. It maybe the starter. I had a similar problem
that just got worse. The starter is vulnerable to dirt and water. I
attribute my starter's failure to being submersed. Although it took
awhile to go bad I am sure that was the start of it.
Actually before it was doing as you described, not disengaging, I
thought the battery was going dead and getting weak. It seemed like it
was really tough to start the engine, like a dying battery. Then the
starter would not let go of the fly wheel for a couple of seconds. When
I replaced the starter it was like I got a new battery too.
Also if I had the money I would have went to a Mean Green starter
http://www.mean-green.com/.
