So, I'm leaving work today @ noon for lunch and my cell phone rings. The person identifies himself as so and so from the Phoenix Police Department. I'm thinkin "Oh crap, here we go." He proceeds to tell me that my house was broken into, I'm thinkin "anything else?" and start breathing again. :D
Turns out, someone took a brick to the arcadia window. A neighbor called the cops while they were here and I think they noticed that, so they only took a few items, but of course, they took the un-replaceable items.
Minor items missing include a Velodyne sub and one Polk tower speaker. they left the other one and all the other HT electronics. Golf clubs are gone, but after a good round of golf, they could be anywhere. Air compressor, just bought $100 worth of paint for my Jeep, opted out of rattle can for the good stuff since I have this killer air compressor. Floor jack, friggin floor jack. All my credit cards and checks, within about an hour and a half, they had used two. Flat panel computer monitor, they had to move my digital camera to pick it up.
Major items include: computer tower. This blows, I had about 8 years or so of records on that thing. So much info was bookmarked and referenced, not just bills but things for all aspects of life. The really important stuff is backed up at work and Yahoo email works as a great database, but so much is lost.
In my bedroom, they used one of my suitcases to take all my personal documents. Mostly bills and warranty info, but they emptied a couple draweres that had my checks and credit cards, but also old pics from high school and whatnot, plus some other memorabilia (sp?). Jeep receipts were separate, so they're safe.
All in all, they really aimed for personal identity stuff. Too bad for them, I worked cc fraud for over 5 years and have my bases covered. Time will tell...
As I'm writing this, there's a knock at the door. I grab the mag light, only to find the hot neighbor chick. Turns out she was the one that called the cops. Gave me the license number (temp), description (male & female, late 20's, red Ford Ranger), and said they took off in hurry. I'll have to give her some flowers or some sort of thank you.
My parents are loaning me their dogs for a while. One won't let out a peep and will lick you to death. The other is older and PISSED!
A lot of venting, just to warn others... for reference, I live near 31st Ave and Deer Valley.
