I received quite a few replies for the SKID PLATE PARTY next weekend.
I figure that I can do 6 - 8 trucks a day. I have enough sets for 14
trucks.
25.00 per axle, installed.
I can do a couple of trucks each night this week for those that can't
make it this weekend.
I will be available all day Saturday and all day Sunday for installs.
Come by and have a set installed!
I can do other welding and fabrication jobs, too! Call me and let's
talk about what you need.
Call me for directions or alternate installation times.

Anyone have any experience using the MORE 1" lift motor mounts? Can

Hello,
I have a question. A few months back I found this page and as I was
surfing around on it I saw somebody selling T-shirts that had "You drive a

wondering if you can hook me up with whoever was selling those, If they
still are. I'm not a member of AZVJC because well I'm in the Navy and I live

start wheeling. Thanks for any help you can give me. And live up wheeling
there cause it sucks over here.

the proper way to remove the tcase drop is to install a slip yoke
eliminator its not that difficult it does cost money but it will make
your transfer case stronger if you get the right one. here is a

it is the best.

Chris,
There is a red wire and a black wire coming out of the CJ lamps. The red one is for the markers and is connected to the TJ wire that is black with yellow stripe. The black one is for the signals and connects to a brown wire on the passenger side and a gray wire on the drivers side. The assembly grounds out through the body.

Subject: FEDERAL JUDGE VACATES PYGMY-OWL HABITAT
Date: Sept. 24, 2001
FEDERAL JUDGE VACATES PYGMY-OWL HABITAT
A federal judge in Phoenix has vacated all critical habitat designated for
the Arizona population of the cactus ferruginous pygmy-owl.
In an order issued late Friday, U.S. District Judge Susan R. Bolton ruled
that the Fish & Wildlife Service's designation of critical habitat for the
pygmy-owl was unlawful because the agency failed to fully evaluate the
economic and other impacts of designating areas in southern Arizona as
critical habitat. Judge Bolton also stated that the designation was
overbroad, criticizing the agency's approach.
The critical habitat designation was remanded to the Fish & Wildlife Service
for further proceedings consistent with this ruling.
Judge Bolton's ruling was issued in response to a lawsuit filed by the
Tucson-based Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA), along with
the National Association of Home Builders and the Home Builders Association
of Central Arizona.
In the lawsuit, the Home Builders, represented by the law firm of Fennemore
Craig, challenged both the listing of the Arizona pygmy-owl population as an
endangered species and the designation of more than 700,000 acres of land in
Arizona as critical habitat. Judge Bolton rejected the challenge to the
listing, but vacated the critical habitat designation.
Terry Klinger, President of SAHBA, said his association is pleased with the
Court's ruling. "The Fish and Wildlife Service didn't fully evaluate the
impacts of designating critical habitat, as required under federal law,"
Klinger stated. "The critical habitat designation placed an unfair burden on
both private landowners and the State of Arizona. The Fish and Wildlife
Service designated land as critical habitat based on its potential to become
suitable for owls in the future, without regard to legitimate land uses,"
Klinger said.
Federal agencies are prohibited from issuing permits and other land use
approvals that would adversely impact critical habitat, regardless of
whether the land is actually occupied by members of a protected species.
Critical habitat for the pygmy-owl was designated by the Fish & Wildlife
Service in 1999. Over 730,000 acres of land located in Pima, Pinal, Maricopa
and Cochise counties was designated. More than 430,000 acres were owned by
the State and held in trust for public education. An additional 135,000
acres of private land also was designated, including 60,000 acres in Pima
County. Most of the critical habitat in Pima County is located in the
northwest Tucson metropolitan area, impacting construction of schools,
churches, homes, roads, businesses, shopping centers, social-service
agencies and related activities.
Phoenix economist Elliott Pollack performed an analysis of the economic
impacts of designating more than 60,000 acres of privately owned land in
Pima County as critical habitat. In a report submitted to the Fish &
Wildlife Service in 1999, Pollack concluded that the designation would cost
billions of dollars. The Fish & Wildlife Service's Massachusetts consultants
contended that there would be no impacts resulting from the designation. At
a hearing before Judge Bolton last July, however, attorneys for the Fish &
Wildlife Service admitted that the agency's economic analysis was improper.
"We were amazed that the Fish & Wildlife Service would simply ignore a
report authored by a reputable Arizona economist and assert that designating
over 700,000 acres of land as critical habitat would have no effect on
southern Arizona," stated Alan Lurie, SAHBA Executive Vice President. "It is
obvious to anyone who lives here that the critical habitat designation
combined with the recent actions of Pima County has impacted the local
economy. We need affordable housing and a strong building and trades
industry, particularly given the direction the national economy is taking.
Judge Bolton's ruling is a big step in the right direction," Lurie added.
In her ruling, Judge Bolton also found that the general approach used by the
agency was unlawful. "The most significant aspect of the court's ruling was
her statement that a 'broader reconsideration' of the critical habitat
designation is required," said Norm James, a Fennemore Craig attorney who is
representing SAHBA. "It is inappropriate for the Fish and Wildlife Service
to designate vast areas of land as critical habitat for a species without
regard to whether the land is actually occupied and contains essential
habitat features."
Both Klinger and Lurie expressed disappointment in the court's ruling on
their challenge to the listing of the pygmy-owl population in Arizona as
"endangered." While the pygmy-owl is rare in Arizona, it is regarded as
common over much of its range, including Mexico. In a report submitted to
the Fish & Wildlife Service last December, University of Arizona researchers
concluded pygmy-owls were common in the Mexican state of Sonora, immediately
south of the international border. The population in Mexico, where most of
the pygmy-owl's range is found, was not listed, nor was the population in
south Texas.
A large block of land already exists in southern Arizona that contains
potential habitat for the pygmy-owl. For example, Organ Pipe Cactus National
Park contains more than 330,000 acres of federal land administered by the
National Park Service. The Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge and the
Buenos Aries National Wildlife Refuge together contain more than 1,000,000
acres of federal land, and are administered by the Fish & Wildlife Service.
These areas are already subject to land use restrictions and border Mexico,
but were not designated as critical habitat. Owls have recently been sighted
in both Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and in the Buenos Aries National
Wildlife Refuge and adjoining areas. The 3 million acre Tohono O'odham
Reservation lies next to the border, and is suspected to be occupied by
owls. In designating critical habitat, however, the Fish & Wildlife Service
focused primarily on State and private land, including land in Pinal County
and eastern Maricopa County, in addition to the Tucson metro area.
SAHBA is a non-profit corporation comprised of businesses in the housing and
building trades industries in southern Arizona. SAHBA has nearly 650 member
firms, who include homebuilders, contractors, consultants, title insurance
companies and other businesses involved in the home building industry.
SAHBA's members employ about 35,000 persons.
Earlier this year, SAHBA successfully challenged restrictions imposed by
Pima County Administrator C. H. Huckelberry prohibiting zoning and land use
approvals in the absence of proof of consultation with the Fish & Wildlife
Service. In that case, state judge Donald Daughton held that Pima County had
exceeded its jurisdiction by attempting to condition zoning and other land
use approvals on compliance with the Endangered Species Act.

Subject: Propane is awesome II
Well my propane project is going well(see propane is awesome!!) I've
managed to get it all hooked up( for my fuel cell, stove fuel,
lantern fuel etc. heater..) I've also figured out a way to run it
through a compressor, so that I can use my pneumatic tools out on the
trail if need be. I was wondering though, what do you all think
about using it to air up after a run. Why not right, or maybe just
fill up with it, as it's probably pretty weighty. Do you think it'd
be volatile? I know propane is heavier than Oxygen. Just a
thought.

The mounts may allow you to remove the t-case lift kit. But, some
still have vibes after the fact and still need to shim their t-case
skid away from the frame a bit. But, it sounds as if you've just got
a mild lift, so you may be ok with just the 1" MM lift and not really
need an SYE. But, if you've still got vibes, you may want to look
into an SYE.
As far as experience with the mounts... I've got the MORE's as well
and they're great. Installation was pretty straight forward. I worked
with a buddy... He did the MMs and I did the body lift and we were
finished in about an hour and a half. However, I've got a six
cylinder. I've heard those with 4 bangers have some problem with the
mounts. If you've got a 4 banger, expect a lot of work and even some
grinding and other mods to get them in. Although, I thought some
company had put out mounts specifically for the 4 bangers and that
has made things easier. But, I can't remember who, if anyone, has put
out the 4 cyl mounts.

In my case (as well as Joey's I believe) that was 100% true. To date
doing the 4cyl MM's has been the biggest PIA mod I've ever done. It

Don't do the tires. If you get a blowout and the rim sparks...
You may run into the same issue with running tools too. That is if I
read you right, use propane to power air tools.
I figure you will probably get a nickname like Torch before too long. :)

I updated the front bumper drawings, as per my dry fit I went for today. If
you have started to use the first drawings you might want to check out the
changes. If you are past that the old drawings will work, there was just a
few modifications that have nothing to do with fit.
You can download it here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/az_vjc/files/TJ%20Fornt%20Bumper/
There is an AutoCAD 14 dwg file format and a dxf file there.
The bumper is off to the powder coaters and I can't wait to get it. On my
bumper I made provisions for a tow bar, that I already have. I might need
some help from Joe W. on the wiring of the lights :), I heard he was good at
it.

Call me for directions or alternate installation times.

the proper way to remove the tcase drop is to install a slip yoke
eliminator its not that difficult it does cost money but it will make
your transfer case stronger if you get the right one. here is a
writeup I did on the install of the Advanced Adaptors Slip yoke
eliminator its not the cheapest one on the market but in my opinion
it is the best.

There is no fast blink at all. I believe this only happens with LED's due to the lower resistance of the LED's. I'm going to pick up a set of 4" round tail lights and do those next.

Just a

To date

You may run into the same issue with running tools too. That is if I
