For those that inquired come on over at or after 8pm tonight. The address is 3846 W Royal Palm Rd. If you go north on 39th Ave from Northern take the first right after the community church. Phil's house is on the north side of the street and should be the 3rd house (the only one with an enclosed garage).

Hello!

My best man is throwing me a bachelor party on Saturday night. Any of you fellow AZVJC guys that want to come out are more than welcome. I've made friends with so many of you that I'd like to invite you all. Even those of you that I may have PO'd at one time or another ;) I've only got 2 short weeks left until I'm shackled and possibly never heard from again.

Please contact Phil sometime on Friday and let him know if you are coming over so he can forward you directions and make final preparations if you know what I mean. He lives near Northern and 39th Ave.

Subject: RE lift party

Hey all,

I got a number of offers to help wrench the new lift onto the
TJ, and I appreciate ALL of it! Chris Krieg, Mike Baney, Dave
O'Boyle, all seem to live sort of nearby. I live in Ahwatukee, but I
live in an apartment also, so I have no garage available to work in.
I am at Ray Road and 40th Street. My kit should be in this week. I
ordered a short shaft kit, and that probably won't ship until next
Friday, which means it'll be in my hands in about 10-12 days. I
haven't ordered a d/s yet, because I am still trying to decide on who
to have build it for me.

Question #1: Can we install the lift WITHOUT the sye and d/s,
and still have the Jeep driveable? I won't be going offroading until
I get tires anyway, so will this work? Or should we (read "must we")
wait until the sye and d/s are all installed at the same time? (I'm
planning on getting some 35x12.50 MTRs! It's not a daily driver.)

Question #2: How much longer does my new d/s have to be, taking
into consideration the sye which shortens the t-case output shaft by
about 4.5", combined with the 4.5" lift? Does the lift height factor
in, or just the sye, when measuring d/s length? And what special
ends does the new d/s have to have to mate up with the output shaft
and the rear axle? Oh, my head...

:) Isn't this fun?

no, you don't have to wait, but we will but the t-case drop in until

The guys at Dick's are great. You probably should phone ahead and
make sure they aren't too busy. When and if I do mine this, the way
Mike is doing his, will be the way I do it.

Does the SYE really shorten the output shaft 4.5"? If this is true
that would make my driveshaft 17+", heck, that almost like having a
SWB truck :).

For anybody that is interested I have AutoCAD drawing for a TJ front bumper.
The length on it is 47". Nothing extraordinary about it I am having someone
make me one to match my Olympic rear bumper. The drawing might be a good
starting point for stock hole locations for anyone wanting to make their own
bumper design.

Let me know, maybe I'll post it just for future reference.

Dan,

You can download it here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/az_vjc/files/TJ%20Fornt%20Bumper/
There is an AutoCAD 14 dwg file format and a dxf file there.

I made it 47" because of looking at the bumper I have now and seeing where
all the rocks hit.
